Good for you Eagle. I hope that a Ranger fan would say that about a Devil...even if he was like Sean Avery. Is there any more information? Either way, good luck to him.

Santana, Thanks,Though I havent heard anything new.The report was that he was taken in at 3am to St. Vincents Hospital.I would guess that he is stabalized, then again why not release a report saying such, unless him being in the hospital period was a leak.Scary one day hes on the ice the next in a hospital bed fighting for his life.Life is too short sometimes no matter what Jersey you wear!

The most recent news is that he was brought to the hospital with a lacerated spleen and he was in cardiac arrest. I understand Sean Avery is one of the most hated players in the NHL, and I don't like the guy at all. However, I think you said it well Eagle. It's scary to see any player go down with such a serious condition. Hopefully he makes a full recovery so Marty can show him whose boss next year!

if it was anyone else i would agree, but when a guys lives his life a certain way, you have to expect people not to care whether he lives or dies. Yea it sucks that the guys is in pain and I wouldn't want to wish it on anyone. But who cares. If Marty reached out to him and said what you guys are saying, he'd be back next year calling him a fatso again. The dude stinks and I don't like him. He's not a good player and the only reason I know his name is because he's a prick.

I'm glad Avery's going to be okay and I wish him a speedy recovery. Stuff like that's scary, no matter who it happens to.

As usual all of you fellow Devil fans have reacted with Heartfelt wishes and class.Archadia,I do not wish to change your opinion nor tell you your wrong. However I am sure you have seen players get injured and even Opposing players Hit there sticks against the boards in hoping the player is ''ok''.Yes I agree Avery is an annoying agitator and true, next year he will probably call Marty ''Fatso'' or come up with something else. The truth is Marty probably if he was at a Restaurant would send a drink over to Avery or vice Versa. This is how players are,and this is why I was vocal on these same Boards about Avery and his Face Guarding Marty and how classless a Hockey act that was. After these players leave the ice they are sons,Husbands,Fathers etc.Just because a player(A Pain in the you know what Ranger) doesnt mean hes a bad person just because of his on ice Antics.I know the Rangers didnt get him to come play Patty Cake with Marty. The Same way thye Devils years ago Didnt get Claude Lemieux to develop better relationships with Flyer players in the post season. And once he makes a full recovery I want the Devils to have another shot at him too....

Eage,
We've touched base before in the NJ-NY series. I was curious what Devil fans were saying. As always, you are a good sport that can separate a sport from real life. And most of the responses were good, except for this stroonze Archadia. Watta dirtbag. He's still harping on the "fatso" name call. And you're right, I seriously doubt marty is happy with this news. The guy is doing his job, and as much as Devil fans would hate to admit it, a pretty good job driving Marty off his game. And it's only a GAME !!!!
Archadia, it's a game, get a life, get over it, it's someones life. You sound like a Devil !

Absolutely. Have we forgotten Claude Lemieux's stint with the Devils? We've had our share of 'most-hated players' too ...

doncheech....you should keep in mind 95% of Devil Fans are Classy and respectful.Maybe the one post against Avery he is still Bitter about the playoff loss.I am bigger and beyond that and yes,Life is more important then a game. The scoreboard is a fictional figure. That scoreboard doesnt show class, respect and effort.Sometimes there is no justice.Avery is a player and also a human being and deserves well wishes for a recovery and I hope to see him out there next year as the papers said this season is over.If he is back out skating again thats more then enough.Take care cheech Ciao

You are all right about the fact that a game is a game and what happens on the ice stays on the ice blah blah blah. So If Marc Andre Fleury gets hurt when Avery thrusts his stick into fleurys ribs, in his personal life outside of hockey he'd be injured right? When Avery skates down the ice slashing people and throwing dirty hits and facewashing people that is physical pain that will have to be dealt with off the ice. So this guy got hurt during a game in which he plays dirty, i say screw him. If he got hurt skydiving, then I'd say damn, that sucks. But when a guy hits him on the ice for being a pain in the ass and then he gets hurt from that, i'm not gonna get say get well soon. Call it what you will, but i call it karma.
