Here's what I think about our draft, I dont think its as bad as it seemed to me on draft day... I guess you could say its growing on me...

Chris Johnson- obviously very fast and explosive, all be it out of the backfield. Reggie Bush is fast and explosive out of the back field but he caught 100+ passes his rookie year... I envision CJ being used in this same way. And for all who say hes too small look at division rival Jacksonville and tell me Jones-Drew is too small...

Jason Jones- obviously we felt we needed to fill the holes in our D-Line left by Odom and LaBoy. Not a great "wow" pick but he will probably develop into a decent player in time, and I think Kearse has a couple good years left, so we could afford to draft him at this point. It was just inlucky that Sweed went to Pittsburgh or else everyone would be saying we got the steal of the draft... sometimes that happens but you cant panic.

Craig Stevens- this really doesnt make much sense to me. The scouts say he is a good runblocking TE but we have a young developing Bo Scaife and a proven Alge Crumpler. Why go TE here I dont really know but he adds to the power run game we played so well last year I guess...

Lavelle Hawkins- A good value here, there are alot of recievers who have blossomed who were picked late in the draft so maybe the front office thinks they got one here. Im not so sure but its another project to develop and they are willing to take the chance of him being another #3 WR on a team stacked with them already. Like I said a good value I guess but I dont see him as a playmaker anytime soon.

No disrespect to our other picks but I dont know much about them.

Recap- Our round 1 pick looks better and better best case he turns into a Devin Hester type dynamic player, worst case hes a 3rd and long yardage back with kick return skills like Sprouls of the Chargers. Other picks filled needs and we added vets like Kearse, and Crumpler which allowed us to do that. Not bad Titans, not bad.

The Sporting News said this:

24. Tennessee Titans - RB Chris Johnson. The Titans shocked everyone by passing on a wide receiver and grabbing the explosive and versatile Johnson. The team has big backs in LenDale White and Chris Henry, but Johnson gives the club a legit TD threat on every touch. Do not be shocked to see Johnson lead all NFL rookie running backs in yards from scrimmage

Stevens is a blocker, Alge and Scaife don't block a lot. They catch a lot more. Troupe was supposed to block but he didn't pan out.

Troupe was never meant to be a blocker. His BIGGEST flaw coming out of college was his blocking...
