I know I will probably catch some flak for this , but many of my fellow Colts fans always talk about how we are a "classy" organization with "classy players." The problem with this? It sets us up to look stupid when things like this to happen. We have set this unrealistic image of our players as if they are angels and have spouted this to fans of other teams, but in reality EVERY team has players who do stupid things and get in trouble.
I like Marvin Harrison and I hope information will surface that will prove that he is innocent, but if not, it is a shame and it does reflect on the reputation of this team.

The above statement is true till it gets to the reputation of the team part.
The Colts are in fact a classy operation. Squeeky clean. Having an incident (and again wait for the truth gang) does not tarnish the image of the Colts except for the trolls who will come and bash before the truth is out. AND it does not tarnish the image of the fans.
NFL teams work hard, and do psych testing on draftees before the draft to avoid players with potential issues. It usually works. For a few it doesn't. Chargers GM AJ Smith works hard at this. Sometimes the Steve Foleys (shot by an off duty police officer) of the world slip thru the cracks. Young men with lots of money is a dangerous mix...
Stay classy Colts fans

Well put boltnut47. The Colts are a classy team. Several teams show class in the NFL. It is not just the Colts. That is why a draftee's stock will lower if he had a troubled past. Several teams pass on him while other teams are willing to take the risk. All teams have thier troubles but some more than others. Class is not just about criminal offenses or alligations, it is also about showboating, maturity, following the rules of the game, and the way the organization interacts with the community as a whole. The fans can also alter a teams immage. Fans like boltnut47 is an example.......thanks for your support!

Like many, I hope he wasn't involved in this mess.
I know they (athletes) get a lot of crap thrown there way from others trying to make a quick buck on a law suit. I only say that b/c don't forget that Harrison has been in the news before.
A couple of years ago, he had an incident in the parking garage downtown and something took place at the Pro Bowl with a kid and an autograph.
Don't know/remember the details on either so take it for what its worth. Just mentioning that this isn't the 1st time Harrison has been involved with police.

To answer your question no for the most part I don't believe we are. I can only speak for myself but I like to wait for some facts to come out on any body before jumping to conclusions. There are bad fans in every fan base group and people who make mistakes or jump to conclusions occasionally which doesn't necessarily make them a total out and out hypocrite but somebody who made an error in judgement and hopefully rectifies it once they have seen their error.
This is definitely not good news as Harrison is one of my favorite players. I hope Harrison had no involvement and can continue his stellar career. If he was involved, he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and I think this would definitely tarnish his legacy as a consummate pro and one of the more modest NFL stars out there. Even if he is cleared, he will still be guilty in some people particularly haters minds.

Good point Boltnut. The Bolts have had their fair share of trouble with players as have the Bengals. The Colts have too at times. It is best not to throw these teams under the bus too much as soon any team can follow suit and have their own problems with any player. In the end, these are human beings you are drafting and you can only know a person so much. In reality, you don't really know what is deep down inside any of these guys. Look at Rae Carruth for the Carolina Panthers.
You are exactly correct too. Young men with a lots of money can be a dangerous mix. The wrong personality type doesn't help either. Some of these guys believe the hype too much and think they are above the law. And as you said, wait for the truth. Nobody knows what really happened yet. Everything right now is speculation and guess work. The only people who know what happened are the ones who were there and the one that was shot at said it wasn't Harrison who shot at him.

Since Marvin is obviously innocent, this had to be what happened!!!! His maid took the Custom Belgian hand gun to show some of her friends at the bar. Marvin got into a fist fight at the bar with someone that was bad mouthing him. The guy says something and walks out to his car. Marvin follows him outside to deliver an even better butt whooping and his maid sees this going down. She comes out screaming " NO MARVIN, I LOVE YOU!!!!!" She then shoots the the man in the hand. Marvin, not wanting his love affair with his maid to be found out, then hides the gun in a bucket of water real fast. He knew the cops would be on the way and didn't have much time to clean it and take it back home.
You guys are idiots. It is a custom gun that he owns, it is obviously his. Second of all, from having a father with cases full of guns that he collects, he knows exactly where his guns are at all times. You don't just have so many that you forgot you brought one with you or loaned it out. Third: marvin has a fight with a guy that he admits too, follows him outside and whoever stole his gun is waiting there to shoot the guy he is arguing with? Ya that would be like me stealing a car from a guy then following him around till someone was mean to him and then trying to run them over for him.
I admit this is like the first time I have ever seen Harrison's name in negative headlines, but the fact is people act out of emotion sometimes and do stupid stuff. He might even get out of this with them saying they do not have enough evidence. If so it just shows the Harrison is above the law in Indy.

I suppose what I am getting at is that we also have had a few players get in trouble. Granted not as many as some other teams, but I have a hard time classifying our team as being squeaky clean. We can't criticize the Bengals in one breath because their players getting in trouble with the law and then ignore or pretend it isn't a big deal when our players get in trouble. True, it doesn't happen as frequent with Colts players, but let's not act like our guys are boy scouts either.
As mentioned before, we don't know everything about the Harrison incident and I hope he is innocent, but what we have heard so far doesn't sound good.
