When dealing with a Bama idiot, it's only too easy to shoot down your arguments.
Too bad that 1) Im not an idiot 2) youre overcompensating for your own shortcomings and 3) your argument still doesnt make sense.
Not counting RP, 9 of our 10 best players from this Championship team return...you obviously know very little about the Tigers....you will see at least 9 returning players that are future round 1 or round 2 draftees....this year we only had 1 drafted in the 1st 2 rounds. ...the other 9 return.Ok short cat, tell me who these 9 "future round 1 or round 2 draftees" are? It would be rather entertaining to see you dig for those and just fumble all over your moronic self.

Hester wasn't one of your best 10 players last year? He was your leading rusher...
...in that LSU are the defending national champions it's impossible to discredit them. But man the invincible aura that I'm feeling from the Bengal Tigers from this thread alone is borderline ludicrous.
I read from a lot of people how RP was going to take them back to the promised land. Now he's gone and LSU still won't miss a beat? Something's missing there.
I know LSU is incredibly talented, but they are just as much a question mark in the West as anyone else now. They don't have a leader on offense.
While I'd like to think the frontrunner is now Auburn, I honestly don't know.

But man the invincible aura that I'm feeling from the Bengal Tigers from this thread alone is borderline ludicrous. Its more or less just Tall Tiger on here, so yes his allusion can be overwhelming (and quite entertaining at times). Im still trying to figure out how they lose their leading rusher and leader in interceptions and not count one of those guys among the ten best players on the team last season along with Dorsey. Im still waiting on the list from short cat about what he believes are the 10 best players from last season. Should be an interesting read.

Now he's gone and LSU still won't miss a beat?I said, if 1 of our 2 QB's comes through, we'll win the West...we've won the West 4 of the last 7 years, won 2 National Titles in the last 5 years, finished in the top-5 all 3 years that Miles has been our coach, won the NC after losing the first pick in the draft (QB) and 3 other 1st round selectees...and pretty much all of ya'll were writing us off because we lost a backup QB.

Name the 9 players for us and then let's see if we agree that they were 9 of the top 10 from last year. So, even though Highsmith, Steltz, and Jackson made 1st team All-SEC, you are saying they weren't 3 of LSU's top 10 players last year? Whatever.

Just remember all you SEC teams, the Hogs are going to stink this year so don't waste your time getting ready to play them each week. We lost everything!

Rereading this whole thread today, I just don't see how anyone can be discounting almost anyone in the SEC, west or east. We all know there are some teams that are highly unlikely to be in the run this year, but let's not forget how bizarre last year was. Many were very close and OT games. Alabama didn't lose one by more than 7 points. LSU is not going to shrivel and go away because of Ryan Perrilloux. It is way too early to be crediting Auburn with so much, because we haven't seen any teams play a game yet, and Tuberville (?) was pretty lackluster at the end of last season. Sheesh let's try and be a little reasonable here.

I agree that it is too early to declaire a winner but on paper Auburn or LSU would be the Favs. LSU has many ??? and Auburn is full of them too. New QB New DC and OC! But Tubby is not a question mark! How can you say that he is? The man has been and hopefully will continue to be a great coach. I dont think he gets the cred he deserves.

Ihatebama - I'm not discrediting Tubby's coaching talents, my point is just that from the games I saw AU play, he looked disinterested, distracted. That's not good for any coach or his team. Then there were off-season rumors of his possibly leaving. And you yourself pointed out further reasons for questioning AU: new QB, DC, and OC. You're right in that Tubby doesn't get much press, but that may say something there. Now let's not get AU fans in a tizzy - my overall point is that there are many questions about several teams, and I'm not going to argue any point here in May. OK?
