After the Leafs hung up their skates a few weeks ago, I began what has become a tradition over the past few years since the Leafs have been out of the second season-
THE LEAFS PLAYOFF HIT LIST!
This year's edition features the Bruins, Habs, Sens, Flyers, and Devils.
The 1-8 matchup featured the hated Bruins and the despised Habs. Through today, the Habs took care of the Bruins, while the Flyers knocked off the Habs.
STATUS- Habs *TERMINATED*
Bruins- *TERMINATED*
The 2-7 featured the pompous Sens and the neutral Pens. Sens are always on the hit list.
STATUS- Sens- *TERMINATED*
The 3-6 featured the neutral Caps and the stinky Flyers. The Fly Guys knocked my Leafs out their last two appearances; thus, they are on the hit list. The Caps failed.
STATUS- Flyers- *EXISTING THREAT*
Finally, the 4-5 featured the neutral Rangers and the backstabbing Devils. The Devils nearly left the hit list after being a thorn in our side for knocking us out of the playoffs in the early aughts. However, they "stick" around for playing Clemmensen over Brodeur in the final game of the 06/07 season against the Fish Sticks.
STATUS- Devils- *TERMINATED*
So, there we have it. Three teams remain with only one being a LEAFS HIT LIST threat.
I am confident that the Burghers will soundly dismiss the Flyers, leading to what I believe will be a Pens-Wings final.
