Impressive, Mr 1 Iron...new kid on the blogs.....not so new actually....27th Jan....me 18th....9 days earlier.

But, the stats is fascinating......only 35 messages, only 30 reviews to, no reviews by, no threads.....but soon to be a Superstar.........and from amateur in Jan....no status in Feb, Mar to a soon to be Superstar.

And great posts and good info......with great reviews.....4 to 5 stars...no less.

...a treat to many, but a threat to BG, as you can see. [see the Tiger/driver thread by 2cents.]

......truly a new kid on the block......welcome to the fray. I only use from 4 iron upwards......two new kids actually, on these threads....

Mr1 Iron

and soon...

.Anthony Kim !

Tim: AK was impressive today (and actually throughout the tournament). He easily broke Tiger's record for the lowest score in the Wachovia Championship, had the largest margin of victory in that tournament, and I believe became the youngest to win the tournament. Not a bad week! I think we may see more of this guy; he looked pretty cool and confident down the stretch, despite getting bogeys on 2 of the 3 final holes, which are very tough by anyone's standard. I like the way he shows no reluctance of pulling out the driver when it's called for, and also his pace of play. He pulls the trigger pretty quickly once he gets his shot set up. I hope he continues to play well.

AK was amazing all week! We are definetly going to see much more greatness from AK in the future. It will be interesting to see how great he does and how he can keep this up. It will be awsome to see a macth up of him playing against Tiger in a tournament and see he difference in his play then with out him.

Anthony Kim will go far because..........

1. He is young and talented

2. He has the full works....A-Z of golf

3. He is strong mentally

4. He drives far...

5. He has a great swing...

6. He has tasted victory and is hungry for more

7. He has great confidence in himself

8. He is so darn good.

7. He is bold and courageous

9. He is a full-blooded American [I think there is a difference...at least in professional golf]

10. He has that ability to improve with each round [like Tiger]

11. And he has been watching and stalking Tiger.

We will be seeing more of him........I am still for Tiger......and excited too that someone [finally] might be at his tail, beating him at his own game, on his own playground. Will Jason Day and Tadd.....and the other Japanese youngster join in to make it a foursome or fivesome....it will be fun when that happens.

050508  - He did a great job Tim, but, although I agree with you on the bulk of your 11 points, number 11 is going out on the limb a little bit, I do believe.  There is alot of talent out there.  Lets see how he does in his next tournament.  I believe Tiger, at this point, is not going to be intimidated by young Mr. Kim.  Take a look at Tiger's record last year, just for a reference point.  Tiger has missed very few cuts over the years, and has finished in the top 25 190 times thru 214 events.  Mr. Kim, as young as he is, still has a long way to go to match that record, plus a 25% win rate. I do not see this dragon a threat to Tiger, after just one win, but I think he has the talent to beat the bulk of the rest of the bunch. usnd

USND,

I agee that one win is miles from 64 and we are not talking about that, yet. Just saying that we have big names....like Ben Hogan, Arnold, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Greg Norman, David Duval, ......Tiger Woods.....names of stars that shone and stayed....at the top.

[not even Vijay, Phil truly belongs to the list......players who have been at the top for a good season or two at least...

Somehow, I sense that AK is one that will be on that list......but we will know when the time arrives.....two years from now. However, I am sure that he will come out at the Players and the Open as a top contender, because of his desire to shine and shine on and on.

I was trying to look into the future. Sounds very bold.....but just a feeling....and ....as the common thread saying goes....just saying...
