I see a lot of people putting the blame on Lebron's teammates but if it wasn't for them, this series would have been over. A lot of blame has to go to Lebron too because he had a terrible series. I never seen someone of his caliber brick so much and have so many turnovers. Don't just blame the teammates, blam bron too.
Another thing, no one should be shocked that the Cavs have no offense. They gave up their offense when they made that trade. Lebron pushed for the trade, so he got it.
I don't understand why the Cavs don't involve Big Z in the offense more often. He's one of the few centers in this league that could still play.
Mike Brown needs to stop running that same play with lebron up top with the pick cuming from the big man over and over. It seems like that is the only play the Cavs have in their playbook. Lebron needs to move without the basketball and get the ball closer to the basket.
So this summer, the cavs need to get the right players to surrond Lebron with. They need to work on better offensive plays.
And also this summer, Lebron needs to work on his jump shots, freethrows, and his post up game. He's to big to not be in the post.
I'm out......Lakers 2008

Lakers, earlier today I responded to a post which read LeBron 40 pts 12 rebs and 8 assts. I responded that 27 16 and 12 would be better. LeBron might have taken to much on his shoulders and did not involve the shooter that were wide open. Even if he'd take 15 less shots it would have made the defense play more honest. No matter how great the performance, LeBron will not make a successful run until he gets away from keeping the ball well into most shot clocks. IMO he is a very good passer and well rounded player but just has to give up the ball a bit more.

If you watch Lebron play throughout the year, you will realize that Lebron is actually one of the most selfless players out there. He does what he needs to do. He scores a bunch because he can, but he is often a double-double and triple double guy. He does what he needs to do to win games. When he passed to wide-open players today like Damon Jones or west, or scerbiak, they tossed up many, many bricks. One great shooter out there with him today and they would have beaten the Celtics. Maybe Gibson would have helped, maybe not, because he is a good shooter, but not a great defender. Scerbiak was brought here just to shoot wide open threes. he finished this series with probably 1 of 9 in the last 2 games and most of those were "wide-open" threes people would kill to take. They are short that Scottie Pippen type of second player that the other team has to defend or a lights out 3 point shooter for all the freebies that get kicked out when Lebron drives to the hoop. The role players are actually pretty solid. Barring another injury-plagued year and the CAVS will be rock-solid next year.

ok NOW its time to start a Celtics/cavaliers round 2 series thread
with that said i think this series largely depends on which celtics team decides to show up. we all know WHO LeBron James is + what he is capable of -- and IF the same celtics that struggled against the Hawks in atlanta show up he WILL run laps around us. on the other hand IF the celtics are firing on all cylinders (as they were for most of the regular season + are now in game 7) i expect it to be a very competative series. i do think the cavs will steal one in boston -- which means the celtics WILL have to win on the road. i also see a couple of very close games that could go either way -- perhaps being decided in overtime or by a buzzer beater. when all is said + done though...
celtics in 7 (+ a much more dramatic game 7) -- but only IF they remember how to win on the road + can shut down lebron james in cleveland.
ok so the celtics STLL havent won a road game + the cavs didnt take one in boston -- but i was right about game 7
man WHAT A SHOW by lebron james + Paul Pierce today. 89 combined points + a game that couldve easily gone the other way IF lebron hit that 3 to tie the game with about 1:30 left. but he didnt -- and in the end the celtics held on!!
bring on the Pistons!!

As an impartial observer who has no rooting interest in the ECF (although I wouldnt mind seeing the Celtics, since I would garner far more satisfaction beating the city of Boston than Detroit), if I were a Celtic fan I would be very, very concerned about getting beaten in 5, maybe 6 games by the Pistons. This is not the Boston three Party, because Ray Allen has turned 40-years-old overnight. His game is deader than fried chicken, and the ONLY way they win this series is if Chauncey is at less than 90%.
All in all though, it doesn't matter, because its for the JV title, and the winner is nothing more than fodder for the West champ (almost certainly my Lakers).

Celtics did what it took to win: PJ Brown brought serious game and the foul shooters made foul shots. Refs choked as always on the flagrant foul agains Ilgauskas. Cavs made one play in 6 tries in the last minute plus. Lebron's and West's misses doomed the Cavaliers. If you're going to be "all that" in the commercials, you have to bring it at the end of games.

good series! Obviously disappointed but the Cavs pushed it to the last seconds of the series... couldnt really aks for more. LBJ great game 7 performance just needed a little more help. Paul Pierce unreal game... probably hsould have been the number one option on offense all series. I see the Pistons taking game 1 in the garden so the Celts will be forced to win one on the road, should be a good series. Good luck to both teams...
ps... I wish the Cavs could hire Avery Johnson

Great series. Plus an instant classic in game 7 yesterday. Congrats Celtics and their fans! Now win this thing! Anything and everything Michigan must lose!
