I full-heartedly agree that the Flyers outplayed the Pens last night. It was a phenomenal effort. I'm not even going to go as far as to say that the Flyers will get thier asses handed to them on Sunday. That team has got a lot of heart. My point was, the crap that went down in the stands the whole game and the crap that happened on the ice at the end of the game was not neccesary. Someone made the "calling card" comment in an earlier post. Is it actually believed that the Pens dont know who the Flyers are and what they are capable of? It was a typical "excuse" comment that we are all used to seeing. I dont know, guys. I guess I'm just used to the more "fair play" attitude of the Pittsburgh players and fans.
Granted....we will boo a bad call or bash a player for a cheap shot..then move on. But what I saw last night was sickening. And yes..you're right, sic03_6, the Pens were definitely outplayed. But no, I do not EXPECT that type of horse shit from any fan of sports. And Philly fans wonder why they get a bad rap?? I mentioned earlier that I was watching the game with my nephew....My wife, sister-in-law and two friends from the neighborhood, husband and wife..both Flyer fans, were also in attendence for the game. I'm not sure if they were just acting this way because they saw that I was upset, but they were also taken back by the fans behavior.
Sorry guys....just venting.

It was nice to see Cindy's true colors come out in the face of adversity. Throughout the entire game, his buck-toothed frustration with the Flyers spilled out in the form of obscenities (from very safe distances, of course), and his whining was tended to by the doting refs, who skated over to the bench to regularly comfort the boy.
Even in the final minute, when the braying squid was directly challenged, he quickly opened his mouth wider, pulled the challenger as close as possible, and waited for the linesmen to predictably/forcefully separate and usher away the the opposing brute. The nutless antognist was then immediately escorted to the bench by his striped handlers, consoled with a pat on the back, and sent through the gate. As talented as he is gutless...

steelcitymm, I understand the whole young kid thing as I have a son of my own who I am sure I would not like him hearing certain things...I am a little more liberal in what I deem inappropriate I suppose because a Crosby Sucks chant would not be one of them...but I do understand what your getting at...but please don't make the same mistake that everyone in the media and other fans around the country seem to make...and that is..it is a minor part of the actual Philly fan base that acts like total morons and by that I mean middle fingers to the camera and starting fights with other teams fans and booing Santa Claus or throwing batteries at JD Drew...or what ever other lame thing that people would like to keep dredging up from the past...the facts are EVERY city has these people in their crowds and I find it amusing that when the Browns fans throw beer bottles in showers on the field or Pistons fans trow a full cup of some beverage at a player and a fight insues that nothing is again said or ever brought up about it but if a Philly fan farts in the wrong direction it is on every major media outlet but not just once...ANY TIME A PHILLY TEAM IS INVOLVED IN A MAJOR GAME..it is so tired and old...and about the fights or whatever at the end of the game..i love it..call me a goon call me what you will but it is part of the game and always will be..there is no rrom for cheapshots and unfortunatly the Flyers have been on the giving part more this season of them but lets not also pretend that each and every team has that type of player who is capable of making an error and judgement and taking a hit or whatever too far...I am sorry you had a hard time explaining some of the things that went on during the game but do not label ever fan and the whole city of Philadelphia because of it because to be honest that is just as bad as the behavior you are condemning not to mention just continueing the tradition of blanket hatred or belief that Philly fans are scum and their teams or bullies or goons...

Here we go,one win and the bs starts again. First of all Crosby is the captain of that team, It is his job to stand up for himself and the team and argue calls and represent his team on the ice. Second He did not back down frome anyone at the end of the game. If you would follow the Penguins as much as you think you have,Louganis, you would know Crosby has dropped his gloves more then other " Points scorers" in the league. You just cant enjoy a victory without the BS. Well you will have plenty of time to think of some good ones for next year, come sunday.

Sid...... Did you actually hear what Sidney was saying to the Flyers bench...or hear what he was saying to the refs? Was he responding or just mouthing off? No...you dont know any of that. Niether do I. Lets not be so quick to say that he was whining or to suggest that he's a coward. None of us have any idea what was being said and who started the gabbing. If thats all you got and your only satisfaction in the whole series is to sling some insults and call Crosby a whiner, then fine...just "man up" and say that. Lord knows you dont have much positives to throw out there. Get a grip and just enjoy your team's win.

gaffney19..... very well said and a great classy response. And 90% of what you said is true. But I was not talking about the past like most critics of the Philly fans. I was talking about last night. I'm 41 yrs old and I've watched a lot of hockey. I was just pointing out whay the fans get a bad rap. Its because of last night. And you're right...not all Philly fans are like that. I've sat in the Vet and I've sat at the Wachovia Center. Hell....I've even given high-5's to some very classy Philly fans....DURING A Flyers/PENGUINS GAME....lol. I was just taken back by what happened last night. To me, that percentage of fans who were acting like idiots, really took away from the Flyers moment.

Yes, I'm sure he was discussing the Delaware Valley's low pressure front moving in from the north... or I can just read his donkey lips like any 4th grader can do!!!
Are you kidding me? He was saying "f*cking p*ssy" over and over again, like he always does to the bench, and then saying "how is that..." or "did you see that..." to the refs followed by excited hand movements with his face twisted in agony.
Do you really need a CIA course in lip reading and body language to understand what a crying little bitch on ice looks like?
Here's a mascot for your fan club:

Steelcitymm, That's all he has done since coming on this board! I think He's a closet Crosby fan! Be satisfied with your win, it was deserved. But lets not let it get the best of you, Sidney Crosby was a bit off of his game last night, I highly doubt that will happen 2 games in a row.
