Well for those who just watch their beloved Penguins.....half of whom stopped watchin the Penguins when Super Mario hung up the blades and their precious Jagr joined the Rangers until they got into the playofffs this year lets look at a few cold hard facts:

   1. The Penguins finished the year on a hot streak. Playing the game very well and tanked a game 2-0 to play a beat down Ottawa Team in stead of facing the Flyers....(Becareful what you wish for you just GOT IT!!!!!)

   2. The Flyers went into the Playoffs with nothing to lose not expected to beat Ovechkin and the Caps (um guess that happenned) and then no chance vs. the Habs quickness and superior goltending (hmmm, second obstacle covered)

   3. The Pens have two great offensive players in Crosby and Malkin. The Flyers have three lines that can take over any game if you key on one line with your top defense. The Flyers young players have nothing to lose and everything to gain, confidence and hard work take teams a long way.

   4. This is going to be a great series and its going to be a hard hitting fight to the end of every game.  Flyers in 6.

Flyers win in seven in overtime at The Pond.!
I dont know if your mistaken or you think "The Igloo" is called the pond.  Anyways, the Pens are the higher seed and therefore, have home ice.  Game 7 will be played in da burgh.

PocketMan and Jaa - My friends and I were just talking about the fact that we won't be here for the Philly - Pittsburgh series.  Maybe this means that we get the Winter Classic sometime?

orngecrush: First off...lets lay off the bandwagon effect...yes there are bandwagon fans but there has always been a fan base here in the burgh for the pens I"m sorry that attendance dropped the years when we went from brilliant to being pretty bad...everyones attendance drops when that happens...look at you guys last year no fans than you guys get a couple of players and turn it around and all of a sudden you have such a better fan base than us talk to us after 62 straight sellouts than we will talk.

But as for your other comments...

1.  this one was a beautiful statement...except it doesn't make sense...first off we didnt' tank the game you don't lose a game 2-0 and hit that many posts ( unless we are that good to hit that many) and play your starting goalie and most of your Stars when you tank...we lost because niether team really cared about that game and it showed it was a boring game...secondly if we did tank it how are we now getting what we asked for wouldn't we have tanked to not play you so how is playing you what we wanted...like I said no sense

2.  Don't take too much stock in beating the caps and Canadiens just like we can't take much stock in beating ottawa or even the Rangers all of those teams were not as good as advertised...(caps and canadiens were young and goaltending was a joke for canadiens)...not saying you didn't accomplish anything but if you believe you will have as easy of a time with the pens you are mistaken

3you imply we only have two great offensive players and that you apparently actually believe that your team has more talent than us up and down the line up...yet this is the same team minus a few big pickups that lost 8 times to the pens last year and was the worst team in the league last year(or one of them)  yes you are much better than last year but you don't have more talent than us top to bottom...you seem to forget about sykora, hossa, malone, dupuis, staal, etc, so we actually match up pretty well but we definately have the slight edge in overall basic talent...and we are also confident (8-1 in playoffs riding a 13 game win streak at home one of the best regular season record at home this year)

so yes I agree that it is going to a great series...but i would be careful with acting like we are so pathetic and dont  match up with you at all.  when in fact we do...but it should be exciting anyway...Let's go pens

RC - Who gives a rats about who's seeded where. When the playoffs start, it's a new season. Whoever's the hot team is usually standing in the end. However, when the hot team is also the most talented from top to bottom, that spells domination. Compare the two rosters and it's a joke! The Penguins are 8-1, they have the most talented offense from top to bottom, all four lines can score, they have the best goaltender in the conference, the #1 penalty kill in the playoffs, they are #1 in hits in the playoffs, #1 power play in the playoffs, and the best defense in the NHL since the trade deadline and into the play-offs, and the 2 most dominating players in the NHL in Crosby and Malkin.

Pens in 5

5 Super Bowls and now 3 Stanley cups in Pittsburgh. It feels good.

I"m sorry that attendance dropped the years when we went from brilliant to being pretty bad...everyones attendance drops when that happens...look at you guys last year no fans than you guys get a couple of players and turn it aroundDude.. you better check some facts before assuming something. "No fans"? The Flyers were by far the worst team (record-wise) last year, and the building was still packed to the roof night after night. The Philly faithful do not abandon their teams when the going gets tough.. at least not for hockey.

I won't get into all of the rest of that stuff, cuz it's gonna be a long week, and I don't wanna be arguing the same stuff for days on end. But I don't think anyone said the Flyers would have an easy time with the Pens, no one is that naive. But on the flip side, the Pens are not gonna have an easy time with the Flyers either. And don't bring up anything about last year, things are WAY different now.. last year means squat right now.. and even this past regular season means squat. It doesn't matter what any team did against the other in the reg.season, the playoffs are a whole different story. I don't care if the Flyers had lost all 8 games to the Pens this season, I would still believe that they had a great chance of winning the series with the way they are playing. That's how little that means at this time.

I got news for you orange-crushed, the top 3 Penguins lines are better by a long shot than Philly's. Not to mention the 4th line can hurt you too. You have not looked at the rosters have you buddy? Didn't think so. Do you think Malkin and Crosby play on the same line? Did you forget about Sykora and Hossa? (Just to name a few) 3 Stanley cups to go along with 5 Super Bowls is gonna feel good.
