NYFAN6682,

I betcha that avatar grows on ya.  How can you not like having a pumped up penguin for an avatar?  Check out that upper body, looks like a case of roids to me, but hey, they probably don't test Penguins anyway.  A Ranger is boring, but a Penguin is cool.

;^)

Wow! Little more than 24 hours before the matchup was finalized and 96 hours before the series' opening faceoff, and we've already got 7 pages here. I can only imagine how ugly this would get if ever there is a Steelers-Birds Super Bowl.

I love hockey -- the Flyers are No. 2 to my Eagles No. 1 -- and plan on having a lot of fun with this series, but a Keystone State Super Bowl would be off the chain. I'd hazard a guess that in the two weeks between the championship games and Super Bowl, there would be over a million posts between Eagles and Steelers fans on Sportsline alone.

But wouldn't you have at least liked to see him score a few goals in his final series win of the year? He may pump in one or two this series, but they're going to come in a losing cause. Is that how you want to have to think of him all off-season? As an underachieving A-Rod of hockey?

Real quick! You are awarded an NHL franchise tomorrow. With your first pick, do you take Ovechkin or Crosby?

Crosby, simply because he is more of a playmaker, Ovechkin is a sniper.  mind you, that is a really tough call.

Not this debate again.......two TOTALLY different players, I will not take part.

My guess:

Flyers fans say Ovie

Penguins fans say Crosby

How is making it to the Eastern Conference finals underachieving? Real quick what is Ovechkin doing right now?

"On the flip side no one is questioning those guys toughness...the problem is outside of those guys you have a boatload of players who shy away from contact.  Even our smallest guys will hit anyone (upshall, kapanen, thoresen), which is really why when people talk about the Flyers they say they play a physical style of hockey. "

Its reputation only.  This is not the Broad St. Bullies anymore Flyers fans, and you should be glad because those teams had precious little skill.

Let your little tough guys line up for nasty hits on the Penguins, while the Penguins skate and muscle by scoring goals.  Crosby and Malkin are both big boys, much like Mario and Jagr were, and they are not easily slowed or brought down.  Crosby does what many great players do, in that he works on the refs all game, pointing out how much holding and obstruction is done, so that when it matters, he ge
