Gave us two home series wins against teams we should beat...
super start considering who were are missing.
Tal is right on with our 3 - 6 inning pitchers being able to bridge the gap...to one of the leagues best bullpens, not a bad little system.
Ryno looked a little more on today with 3 walks (seeing ball better) and a long fly to the opposite field), and a BIG slide to win the game---wish he dropped the Giants catcher the way ruiz got drilled today (anyone else think that deserved some kind of response from the Phils)
Anyway, I say we go for a split on the road for 4 against a hot d-backs squad---need a big start from Myers at the tail end of it
Any word on Rollins anywhere? Can you believe how tough our line-up looks without him?

No, Ruiz was blocking the plate. Howard could have run into Holm if Holm was blocking the plate, but he wasn't. He was going after the throw.

please, he SHOULD have been blocking it but he was on the complete opposite side of the plate with his left foot on the 1st base side of it (plus he was fielding the throw)...that was cheap all the way NOT EVEN CLOSE...howard had more right to plow your catcher then that punk rookie who was making up for previous screw ups earlier in the game

I'm upset that didn't get more of a reaction from the Phils...looks like someone (I think victorino) spiked your first basemen so that was a start...but should have been much more
hopefully when the Giants come back to town next week we'll get it back

cuz that play on Ruiz was classless and even worse were the jokers who announce for the Giants who were supporting that as a great play---probably why you are blindly supporting it
dude could have come in standing up much less easily slide in, but instead came across the plate AFTER STEPPING ON IT and blasted Ruiz, who has never been hit like that in that situation in his life and to his credit took the blow without even blinking
and to address your statement...YES they need to be a little tougher...so that crap doesn't fly or someone's going to get hurt ---that would have put a lot of catchers out for a month
as for you, be a fan or get out, you have nothing intelligent to say except
