Hello True Believers....

sorry I had a comic nerd moment... but back on topic... What did I say, Goaltending was the biggest factor in the game. please do not say the refs called it one way, because there was just as many things they could have called on the wings as the Stars.

yes the 5 on 3 was a very weak call and detroit got a goal out of it, there was another goal where it certainly looked like goalie interference the Stars also had 2 other chances to score where they had osgood beat, like when hagman was jus out of the reach of the puck on a wide open net we seem to miss open nets alot and near the end where Steve Ott blasted one off the post this game could have easily been 3-2 dallas.

bblank, you can "what-if" yourself until you go crazy. I can point out a time where Robidas grabbed Cleary around the neck and pulled him down, and no call, but Lidstrom puts a small stick on Morrow and he gets whistled for the penalty. Ticky-tack? Absolutely. But, as I've said before, all the refs can do is call the penalties; it's up to the players to score on the PP.

And about those 2 chances? There's no guarantee Hagman would have scored, and Ott hit the post with 2 minutes left in 4-1 game. I can tell you he doesn't get a breakaway like that if the score is closer. Plus, Dallas' only goal came on a bad break when the puck took a weird bounce off the glass right to the Stars player. So, at best, the score would have been 3-1 (maybe 2-1), if you say the Holmstrom goal shouldn't have counted. Or, it could have been a shutout if that fluke bounce doesn't happen. Either way, the final score WAS 4-1, and both teams need to get ready for Game 2.

How can you say dallas wins were luck?  They are a solid club that has made the playoffs the  past three years.  That is not luck.

If I recall correctly, Zetterberg nearly scored on a wrap around when Turco barely got his stick back in time. What if...................  See, what if's are for losers. Game 1 is in the books. Move on. Game 2 should be a fierce one. Go Wings.

sorry Dallas but it doesn't look good. Morrow is becoming one of those players that you either love or hate he was a major pest against SJ. Look for him to pick up that role again and Chelios will take him out.

Detroit in 4  Philly in 6.

Turco is a great Goalie and what not but i do not think that the Stars have a chance in this series. It looks as if Detroit has finally figured things out (Put Osgood in net) They will win it in 4 or 5 depending on what type of series Turco has... if he could play like he did in the series vs. SJ then they might win a game but other then that look for Detroit to be in the Finals.

As for the other series Pitt in 5 as well.

Well nashville when they sensed defeat stayed to there game and kept working, Colorado same thing, they stayed classy even down 8-2 just trying to put some more in the net. Dallas not so much, as soon as that final minute hit and they knew they were going to lose they had to goon it up, drawing two penalties and trying to run star players like ott trying to hit lidstrom from behind when behind the play.

Please spare me to death with your goon talk, as I said Dallas isnt gonna roll over for you like the other 2. Besides detroit was doing their share of blind side hitting too so i dont wont  hear that.  Its game one on the road and the Stars came out flat, no reason to call this sereis ove
