If Anderson has a rough game in week one...you will hear the chants from the stands.....

Thomas gives us promise...we can win with Quinn!!!!!!!!!!!

I know we can win with Quinn...mainly because we won with Anderson.  Having that giant left tackle makes it easy to find time and throw to our elite receiving corps.

If Anderson does have a bad game one...then two...you know the chants will start real quick.  The guy is on such a short leash with the fans that it is inevitable that he will start to mess up...we are in his head.

I wasn't comparing the talent level. I was comparing the mindset. The idea that going out and signing other teams overrated cast-offs to "win now" is better than building through the draft.

I'm glad you've seen Rogers play so often. You should then be able to explain why in 7 seasons he has 250 tackles and 29 sacks. That's 4 sacks a year for a guy who is "dominant". Proof is in the pudding. I don't care how much talent he has. His job is to stop the run and sack the quarterback and he gets one sack every 3 games and has less than 3 tackles a game. Sounds like a 22 million dollar investment to me!

If you really want to make comparisons Archuleta came into the league the same year as Rogers and he has 452 tackles and 18 sacks from the safety position.

I didn't start this thread to talk about Rogers. It was to show you how poor DA played in his last 7 starts against 7 of the worst teams in football. Somehow it turned into a Rogers thread and so be it. I stand by my assessment of him and we he eats his way off your team I'll be laughing thinking about you paying him to sit home and watch.

The Browns finally have a taste of success and you think you're a dynasty now. You even labeled Brady Quinn as the next Joe Montana. He's been a Brown for a year and instead of putting him in the starting lineup you re-sign a guy who played more like Hannah Montana for the last half of the season. Sounds like a team who thinks they might have missed on Quinn. Not a team who thinks he is franchise QB.

As we do every year we'll get the last laugh cause we do things the right way. We don't throw a bunch of money around and think that's gonna bring us success. You missed on Quinn (and gave up a no. 1) and you whiffed on Rogers too (you'll be paying that contract long after he's gone). Back to the cellar goes the Brownies and I couldn't be happier!

Beachbum,

The idea that going out and signing other teams overrated cast-offs to "win now" is better than building through the draft.

They gave up a 3rd for Rogers and a 2nd for Williams, not that high of picks for guys who seemingly have another 5 years left in them atleast.

You should then be able to explain why in 7 seasons he has 250 tackles and 29 sacks.

He's supposed to clog lanes and free up others to make tackles and plays. Kind of the same reason Casey Hampton doesn't put up big numbers in those areas either, as I thought we already concluded. Obviously it only explains low numbers for your players, to suit your own arguments.

If you really want to make comparisons Archuleta came into the league the same year as Rogers and he has 452 tackles and 18 sacks from the safety position.

Here you really show your ignorance. Safeties always puts up more tackles than DL, especially in the box safeties who can't cover anyone.

That would be a waste of time because many Browns fans on here already don't like DA and for them that wouldn't be much of a reality check, now would it?

The Browns finally have a taste of success and you think you're a dynasty now. You even labeled Brady Quinn as the next Joe Montana. He's been a Brown for a year and instead of putting him in the starting lineup you re-sign a guy who played more like Hannah Montana for the last half of the season. Sounds like a team who thinks they might have missed on Quinn. Not a team who thinks he is franchise QB.

Please show me where any Browns fan has labeled Brady Quinn the next Joe Montana. Also while you hunting who exactly has said the Browns were a dynasty? Most of us Browns fans are levelheade, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that we can win the division this year. It's Steelers fans like you who think your team is the greatest in the league. I have repeatedly said until we take the division it is the Steelers, we have to prove it on the field. I happen to think this will be the year it happens, but until then it's yours.

As we do every year we'll get the last laugh cause we do things the right way. We don't throw a bunch of money around and think that's gonna bring us success. You missed on Quinn (and gave up a no. 1) and you whiffed on Rogers too (you'll be paying that contract long after he's gone). Back to the cellar goes the Brownies and I couldn't be happier

We will see. That's all I can say for now.

like Hannah Montana for the last half of the season.I KNEW IT!!! I KNEW NO REAL FAN FAN OF THE NFL COULD BE AS IGNORANT AS YOU.

You've been watching Disney this whole offseason haven't you? That clears up everything...Anyway this has been fun, but I think I have grown tired of going back and forth with you and your moronic posts, so I'm gonna try and not respond to anymore of your mindless posts.

Mano, hope to see more posts from you in the future. I enjoy reading what people from other points of view think, when they put together a thought out post with relevent facts.

I know we can win with Quinn...mainly because we won with Anderson.

Heck, we can win with Quinn because he has a cannon for arm. If he works on his accuracy a little more, he will be a ton better than Anderson.

Ohiostate, DA is the one with the cannon who needs to wok on his accuracy, Quinn has a decent arm, but not as big as DA's and he's pretty accurate.

Question to Mano . . . Beachbum312 - keep your pie hole shut.

Mano, you are a very knowledgeable poster and I value your input most (not all, but most) of the time.  I read your posts leading up to the Steeler's draft and the amount of research and diligence was obvious.

Here goes:  In your opinion, Is Ben Roethlisburger a product of the Steeler system or is the Steeler system a product of Ben Roethlisburger?  Here is why I am asking.

In 2004 (Ben's rookie season), he played in 14 games.  Attempted 295 passes for 2,621 yds (66.4% completion) with 17 TD's and 11 Interceptions.  Pittsburgh rushed the ball 618 times for 2,464 yds and 16 TDs.

In 2005 (Super Bowl winning year), he played in 12 games.  Attempted 268 passes for 2,385 yds (62.7% completion) with 17 TD's and 9 Interceptions.  Pittsburgh rushed the ball 549 times for 2,223 yds and 21 TDs.

In 2006 (Motorcycle/Apendectomy year), he played in 15 games.  Attempted 469 passes for 3,513 yds (59.7% completion) with 18 TD's and 23 Interceptions.  Pittsburgh rushed the ball 469 times for 1,992 yds and 16 TDs.

In 2007 , he played in 15 games.  Attempted 404 passes for 3,154 yds (65.3% completion) with 32 TD's and 11 Interceptions.  Pittsburgh rushed the ball 511 times for 2,168 yds and 9 TDs.

In his first two years it is obvious that the Steeler plan was to rush the ball as the majority of the offence was rushing.  In the last two years, the mix of pass/run was almost 50/50 but the TD ratio of pass to run was overwhemingly pass.
