3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. (don't even want to think about why)

THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30,

SO EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED

THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25, SO HE

SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT

HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY BETWEEN 3 MEN,

SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND

KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM,

WHICH IS A TOTAL OF $ 27,

ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR?

Technically, if the room was $25, each would have (2) would have paid $8.33 and (1) would have paid $8.34.  So if you gave them each $1 change from the original $30, you would have $2 left over.

should have been:

Yes, but if you consider the $10 per person already being payed. They get a dollar back. So that means they paid $9. Multiplied by 3 is $27.

Multiplied by 3 is $27.They paid $10 per person only if the room was $30.  BUT, it was $25.  $25 between 3 people = $8.33 + $8.33 + $8.34 = $25 (.33 + .33 + .34 = $1).  So, when the bellhop gives each of the 3 men $1($25 + 3 = 28), there should be $2 left over from the $30.
