IBleed ~

Axemurderer, i was specifically speaking out to Dustin_DC.  After last year, yes you guys are within reach more so than anyone else.  I'm just pointing some things out for your fellow faithfulls that feel the need to go run their mouth.

Fair enough.

Allow me to point out that Pacman Jones is completely over rated.  He hasn't shown anything to be considered a real threat other than a punt returner.

Gotta disagree with you there. Crackman Jones might not be the second coming of Champ Bailey, but he's a legitimate starting NFL cornerback. To have him be a nickel corner (which he will be while he works himself back into game shape provided he's reinstated for this coming year) will be a definitel help to Dallas' secondary.

Pope ~

i would say your right, Giants win last year has allot to do with next year! they are the team to beat.

Hate to say it, but I have to agree. Dallas' division title and two wins against the G-men don't stack up to a SB win.

Just like the Steelers a couple of years ago.  Regualr season records and all that jazz don't mean anything in the post season.  Its how your team performs in the end.  I hate to say it but the Giants are a good example.  The started out terrible.  Then just ran away with it.  Cowboys were great all year, then started to let it slip towards the end of the year.  Obviously the odds are in favor of a team who post a better record...but history shows us that its no where near a gaurantee.

Guys,

I know what I saw last year, but I still don't believe it. CALL ME THICK--I'll even admit to it.

I just don't see the Giants even getting close to to that level of play again this year. I think the defensive front four (IF Strahan comes back--LEADERship) is badarse--PERIOD. BUT, if they do not play to that same level they attained after about Week 13, 14 then it's a no brainer to me---The secondary gets picked apart. The LB group of NY is average IMO and te secondary is as bad OR worse that what they were for the past 3 seasons. It was the front four last year that masked that deficiency.

Also, AND THIS IS HUGE FOR ME, is Eli Manning gonna continue to grow OR AT LEAST play as well as he did in the playoffs????? We still saw CONSISTENT glimpses of Eli the "not so great" last year.

I am not sold on the G-Men yet for this season.

I am no fool---They were the best team in the NFL last season and they have the hardware to prove it.

I am just not as confident about their success this season---YET.

... i'm gonna sound like a Giants fan here... sorry

what are we gonna do run on them? Tuck, Alford, LB's who tackle well and are very fast. Pass on them? Ross, Madison, Webster, now Phillips (the guy man of us Eagles wanted)... and we need time to throw with Osi and maybe one more year from "the gap tooth"-(our Eagles line is built to open running lanes and give McNabb time for quick hits... not for him to sit back and have time to make reads down the field). My answer is, all the above... throw in some screens, try to keep them off guard... but i don't see a real advantage in any area against them. With our revamped special teams, try to get into a little bit of a field position battle.

I hate to say i think Eli is for real. not as good skill as his brother but he might be about as good as Peyton at managing a game now. Then Plax, Jacobs, Boss, maybe Shockey still, Toomer, Smith... as solid line... again i don't see the advantages.

I know we have Dallas fans on this board (all the time). I think we can run up the middle and right at Zach Thomas (and back ups) with some success. I think LJ Smith healthy gives them match up problems. Westbrook is a match up problem for every team but I think he gives more problems to Dallas/Wash then he does Giants. Then on D against Dallas i feel we can do a good job most of the time containing there run game next year. TO or Witten will go off, just make sure it's one and not both each game.

Skins... advantages across the board, both sides of the ball.

Tough to argue with success.  Right now the G-men are top dog, and that means taking a backseat to them and their trash-talking until they're dethroned.

They definately will be a differnet team without Michael Strahan and the loss of Kabika Mitchell and Gibril Wilson.  There is something to be said for team chemistry, especially the loss of players who contributed so much.
