Is giving 5's helping or hurting your value? I've asked around and got a few responces from some super stars. I was told that any rate was a positive thing,  but always giving 5's could potentially hurt your rating. So this thread is based on rate it for what it's worth.

Over 20 views now and no one wants to put in any comments. Wow I guess you guys don't really care about your value or ratings.

Sport, If I understand your intention on this thread, you mean we should not be slaves to giving out 5's. The problem is that most people see it as an insult if you give them anything less than that even you don't mean it as one.

I must admit that I don't rate postings for what they are worth, but rather I give out almost exclusively fives and sprinkle in a few fours to keep from hurting my own rating too much. CBS downgrades your scores if you only give out fives so we are pretty much forced to give out something else. So I give out some fours which CBS claims don't hurt the person who gets them, but that they are better for them than not getting any rating.

I give out almost exclusively 5's and a few fours mixed in, if there is something in a post that I really don't like I just skip rating it.  My other ID was a 1k and still a 99 and I gave out 99% 5's with that one and that is how I got so high as I did not post a lot with it.  This rating system is flawed as we all know, seems to go up and down like the stock market.

Hello all, Jimbo you pretty much hit the nail on the head. This site is for those who feel the need to be honest with their rating system or just want to post a few other than 5 scores. I myself would not be offended if I got a few 4's. This thread is kinda like an experiment site. Run a few 4's or whatever for a while keeping tabs on your Rep statusand see if it makes a difference, if it does your welcome. If not, you all have been wonderfull perticipants thanks again------Sportfan.

Noworries dc, 2's and 1's might scare me but good people won't use them unless they don't like you or you really suck. For me it's still hard not to give 5's cause everyone on here I like. but there will be some 4's going round.
