With enough slaughtering last week to make a good Cecil B DeMille movie,...
lol... My measly $609,280 earned 2796th place for the week, and 1st in HP's Little Red Book! This week should be a fun one. Great venue. ILG will be on 17 caning the kids, "down in front, down in front", CRACK!!!
Adam Scott as my headliner. Playing well and has good history at Sawgrass.
KJ Choi wins good tourneys and I think he can win here too. Hits alot of greens.
Stewart Cink is on the brink and this could be the week. Solid golf this year.
Freddie is my favorite and he has been making alot of cuts this year. Still mad he missed Friday's putt on 18 at Masters. Musbergered by his old roomie Nantz.
Kenny Perry has missed only two cuts this year.
Good Luck! Fairways and Greens!
(Sorry about that Cink-brink deal, completely unintentional)
Gotta go with Furyk here. This is one of the few courses where his short-hitting won't hurt him, so I think he'll come ready to Win.
Scott? He can Win anywhere.
Olazabal? Getting pretty long in the tooth, but his game suits this setup, and he should play well, and a Win is not out of the question.
Kim? Impressed the snot out of me most of the year ... expecially last week. His salary was too good to pass on.
Imada? His short-hitting won't hurt him this week, and his putting could keep him in the running.
Final picks:
Furyk, Jim $280,500
Scott, Adam $290,250
Kim, Anthony $196,000
Olazabal $75,000
Imada, Ryuji $134,250
Team Salary $976,000
Two guys I struggled with are KJ Choi, who may well Win this thing, and Miguel Angel Jimenez whose minimum wage salary is a STEAL.
Best o' luck to one and all.
DO NOT forget to watch LIVE@17 all day online.
One final comment ... about the course. This event is being played 6 weeks LATER than it's traditional Mid-Late march date (thanks to FED Sched Changes). My GUESS is that the course may be much dryer, and HOTTER than when played in March. That could radically change how the course plays. Faster fairways with REALLy scary run-through areas could force even some short-hitters to go with less club from the tee in some instances. Does anyone have knowledge of whether my climate speculation has any merit in that part of Florida?
The PGATour.com LEaderboard is jcked-up. It is onlyregistering the completion of two holes by the lead golfers, while The Golf Channel shows those players have completed FIVE holes.
LIVE @ 17 begins in 15 minutes ... 9AM. Watch for iLoatheLife.
Hmmm ... I wonder why no one has picked Masters Champ Immelman this week?
Lucky no one did, cuz he withdrew this morning. According to the announcers on LIVE @ 17, the reason as, and I quote, "Probably as much about Masters hangover as anything". That doesn't seem to bode well for Immelman's future.
BTW ... dead calm at the 17th right now ... with winds expected 1-15 mph winds in later. Greens still receptive. 4 pars, 2 bires, no bogeys ... nuthin' wet yet.
Well Einstein,........I wasn't referring to ALL of your picks, if you look at my post........Just the ONE I highlighted, Choi, who you said ...."May well WIN this thing.....!"
By the way, FYI,.....less than 3%, 2.6 %, to be exact, of the 28,000 people who picked players in the ESPN Best Ball Challenge this week, picked K.J. Choi, so I'd say you were in the great minority by predicting that Choi "may win" The Palyer's this week........ROFL
Better keep to that really exciting "waterski jumping" thing you were carrying on about, ad nauseum...... in an earlier post,....Cuz golf just doesn't seem to be your area of expertise, now does it....?
