Ravens field logo question?

In fact, the original Ravens Logo was that shield emblazoned over the Raven so the wings stuck out the sides of the shield.  I liked it a very much.  Unfortunately, the courts ruled that they stole the idea from some fan who submitted it in a contest and he never got compensated for his idea.  So, the guy who won the suit had an injunction imposed on them using that logo.

I personally thought it very original. 

My own idea for the helmet and logo was jus to have an eye, sort of an angry birds eye glaring forward on each side of a black helmet  with a bit of feather type stuff around it to define it as a Raven's head.  The logo in the center of the field would have been a duplicate of that eye!  I think with the character of this team, the defenses we have produced it would have been perfect.

Oh well.

The best logo the Ravens ever had or could have for that matter is from the original uniform.  Not the one on the helmet but the one from the sleve of the uniform.  It was a Raven with the wings outstreatched flying right at youwith its talons in the attack position.  That is the logo I would like to see on the helmet.

By now, I see you got the scoop as to what our mid-field logo stands for.  We, sometimes like to call it the Police Badge.  Yes, it's the emblem of the MD State Flag, but our Balto. County Policeman use is it on there sleeves, too.  All the Ravens did was add the BR into the emblem.  This way, if the team dares to  venture other avenues, the BR wouldn't make too much sense to many other towns. 

The Indy Colt fans still don't understand the horseshoe symbol on their helmet was really for the BALTIMORE great, Johnny U.!     

Well, actually the profile Raven the fans voted for that won, didn't win in the end.  The Raven profile we see on our helmet now was doctored from the original.  It was all a part of that lawsuit.  The original profile was a lot cooler/meaner than what we now have.  I do like what we have better than the original Flying "B" helmet logo, but we never got what we were promised in the revamp voting. 

As for the original Flying "B" logo, I still have tons of that stuff on hats, tee-shirts, and many other souvenirs.  I like it more now than I did then.  I wish we could buy off the original artist and use it for throw-back days.  I love the old Topps and other Football Cards that reveal that old logo.  That original Raven profile logo used to be my avatar in the 90's.  In fact I still and have always used it on the ExtremeRavens.com website, as RavensMadness.
