Hi guys.... sorry to always be here on a negative note.    :(

For the last several days, when I am on the site and my window(s) are minimized in my toolbar, they now say, "-CBSSports.com - Windows Internet Explorer" or on the Mac side with Safari they say, "-CBSSports.com."

The name of the thread you are in, the blog you are in, the page you were on is now GONE even with the mouse hovering over it!!!

PLEASE,  have them revert back.   Are they trying to make life difficult on the users?

So right now, I'm typing to you with 17 IE Windows and 2 Safari Windows Open.   2 are Yahoo window, 2 are Wikipedia Windows and the rest say the same friggin' thing:  -CBSSports.com!!   The Yahoo and Wiki windows tell me which page I am on in their site, but not CBS.

Amazingly, I just opened up three different windows on the main CBS.com site (not Sportsline).   All three of those pages show EXACTLY what page I am on when minimized.    One says, "CBS.com - Official Site of CBS."   Another says, "About Survivor - CBS.com" and the last one says, "Dexter:  Watch Full Episodes and Video."

If you need more info, please let me know and I am more than happy to help troubleshoot for you guys.

Thanks so much in advance.  :)

Cheers!

The Bong Show,

I appreciate you pointing this out. The developers are actually making enhancements to this as we speak. You will see full descriptions of each page you are on in the near future.

Thanks,

Golf Guy

Thanks for posting that Bong...

It used to say NBA General - CBSSports.com....now it just has....-CBSSports.com...it hasnt changed on any other website so it is limited to CBSSports.

It is really annoying...I am estimating how far back I want to go

Dang.... that was a fast reply!   Thanks!

I REALLY appreciate the update!   FYI... nothing has changed regarding that to date.

While I am here, can I also suggest that when changes are being made, that they just close the site for 15 mins to an hour to do the changes?    The last couple of nights (last night and tonight) have been ridiculous.    The pages don't load, posts get lost, blogs don't update properly, it is INSANELY slow, etc, etc, etc.     Why don't they just temporarily close it and make all the changes at once?    They can put up a page saying, "Enhancements are being made to the site to improve your user experience.   We apologize for the inconvenience.   The site will be live again at 8:30am (or whatever time is applicable)."    I think most users would prefer this and just get it all done at once instead of this constant tinkering.    Anyway, just a suggestion.

Thanks again for your quick response!

Cheers!   :)

What's up NH?

It does make it extremely tedious and annoying to navigate for sure.

Hope all is well Down Under!

Cheers!

The Bong Show,

Thanks for the post. I am not sure of the reasons behind the slowdown over the past few nights, but I don't believe there is a direct connection between the change in question and the slowdown. However, I will forward along your suggestion to the team that makes the changes to the site.

Thanks again,

Golf Guy

Hey Bong and fellow posters. I have had several problems with CBS this morning. I, like Bong, had multiple tabs(I use firefox because I like their tab stacking) open and lost 3 different blog replies that i spent a couple of hours building my rants up in. Talk about disappointment. Just when you think you're posting a thousand word rant on someone's blog to make a point(ok, several points), you get a error code 100 problem posting message reply. 3 times!!!!!!! In one morning. That'll make you glad you've become addicted to blogging.

fansince66,

Thanks for sharing your experience, sounds frustrating. That error code 100 message has been coming up for several users. Here is a quick rundown ... You can only have one post box open at a time. You can have multiple threads open in multiple tabs/windows, and you can post from multiple tabs. The error only occurs when there are two post boxes open simultaneously. If you follow these steps you should be good.

Thanks,
Golf Guy

Just for the record, the above is not accurate.   It has nothing to do with just "post boxes."    Often times it is just a duplicate window.    So if I had two windows open with the same thread topic and only one open with a "post box" it might happen.   Sometimes it happens with only one of the same thread window open.
