It hurts being a Steelers fan and looking at this, just like it would hurt being any other fan that was a victim of this travesty. I always think about it, what would it have been like if spygate never occurred? What dynasties would have sprung up instead of the dynasty of video taping signals? Well, what's done is done, and I look forward to future dynasties cheat free.
Heres a thought: Los Angeles wants a team right? Why not move the pats over there, L.A. has a brilliant history of cradling teams for about 3 years and sending them away...

the interesting thing about these new tapes is the revelation of the afc championship game, the argument before was that the Patriots didn't review the tapes until after the game, but wouldn't a team change their signals from year to year due to the fact that given enough time someone taping the signals could learn exactly what you were calling. you might have a different def coordinator who would have all new signals, why videotape the championship game unless you were planning on using it in that game. if they didn't use it in that game it was a waste of resources. obviosly the patriots thought they were gaining an advantage otherwise why videotape, you could videotape Peyton Manning scratching his butt or looking at overhead pictures during the game and pointing out things to his receivers, why pay someone to deliberately video a coach unless you thought you were gaining an advantage

Okay, why is this such a difficult concept for Steelers fans to grasp.? YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TAPE IN GAMES. IT"S IN THE FRIGGEN RULES IF YOU CARE TO READ THEM.
IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING THE RULES, YOU ARE NOT CHEATING.
Sheeesh. Denial ain't just the river in Egypt.

I would guess that recording during a game would have no effect on that particular game. Thus why would there be any concern over it? The tapes were used for future games.

No Life:
That was funny, and for your sake, I hope it was intended to be a joke. There's so much denial going on nowadays in NE that psychologists are working 24/7 trying to comfort NE fans and helping them deal with this travesty.
Good stuff, keep it up.

I understand the "videotape" part but how do you NOT know if the tapes made it up to the Patriots booth for review during the game? Maybe they were able to view them up stairs and make calls down to the field.
Personally I don't care about the whole thing but there has to be some weight to what is being said.

jagsfan893, What an ass you are. What cheating are you talking about dufus. The officials make calls, not the teams on the field, matter of fact how about that appology they issued concerning the holds on Garrard's run last year, that they missed. I guess in your world, that means the Jags cheated LOL.
Carson Palmer, cry me a freaking river already, he is 2 wins and 8 losses against the Steelers in his career, and he hasn't won at home against Pittsburgh yet, but you assume that he would have won the game for them. The Cinci defense lost that game period, twice the Bengals had 10 point leads and couldn't hold on.
What NE did or didn't do, is not equal to blaming the Steelers for official bad calls. Maybe if your team could beat the Colts once in awhile, you might make it to a Super Bowl.

First of all, Art Rooney has already confirmed (after seeing the tapes) that he was sure that no advantage was gained by the Pats. Also, no one has ever prooved that any of the tapes had a bearing on any of the games taped.

Art Rooney didn't see the tapes, Goodell destroyed them. All Rooney is saying is he thinks taping signals wouldn't have altered the outcome of the game. Whatever advantage the tapes gave, one thing is clear, Belichick doesn't do anything without a benefit for the team. So regardless of what everyone is saying, Belichick's actions speak for themselves, he got something out of the deal, because he wouldn't have wasted his time taping for 7 straight years. Maybe his buddy Adams can enlighten folks to the | |
