Seriously. This is the SON of an NFL coach. Not the coach. His son. Yeah, is his son in some serious trouble? Of course. But this has nothing to do with sports, whatsoever. Andy Reid is not a movie star or an actor, but ESPN and other media is turning his family problems into a media soap opera, then tying it into sports by asking lines like "how do the players feel about this" and "will emotions get in the way of coaching?". Andy has some messed up children, but he has normal ones too. Heck, the "kid" is 25! Andy isn't making decisions for him anymore. And EVEN if he was, does it REALLY matter? The Eagles pay him to coach, he's done very well at that (go ahead, spam about how he sucks, he is a good coach), and his personal life carries NO weight, whatsoever, on his coaching ability. I feel sorry for him that this difficult time for his family is being shown to the world, and that his character is being questioned by random people who saw the phrase "Reid arrested" on a Sportscenter column and know nothing about the situation.

Calm down before you hurt yourself.  The story is supposed to garner sympathy for how hard NFL coaches have to work, and that the time they put in to it doesn't allow for time to manage their families at home.

If I were Andy Reid, I'd have my d-bag son put to sleep at this point.

This is not a sports issue. It should not even be in the sports headline, however, our good media folks strive on this type of reporting.  Andy Reid son is twenty five years old and should be held accountable for his dumb actions.  Let's play football and forget his son sports fan.   How many games will the Eagles win next season????   I am sure this issue with his son will effect his coaching abilities.

I am sure this issue with his son will effect his coaching abilities.  Didn't seem to last year. Looked like the same old Andy. Take that for what its worth. This guy is in his 20s. He isn't 16. If he's a f-up, hes an f-up on his own.

This story is on a sports site because that's where it belongs.  Any Reid is the head coach of the Philidelphia Eagles.  Big family issues like this (and this is big) can have an affect on his ability to do his job.  If my kids were in this type of trouble, i'm sure it would weigh on me every day.  Should Tony Dungy's son commiting suicide not have been reported on on sports sites?  Should Brett Favre's dad dying not have been reported on sports sites?   Maybe we should just ignore everything that doesn't happen on the field.  Yeah, that's what should happen.  Or the media could just check in with you before reporting a story, just to make sure it's a sports story by your standards.

I really do feel for Andy Reid. Sometimes there is nothing anyone can do with an addict....no matter how hard you try.

That said, Andy Reid is an NFL head coach that makes millions of dollars winning football games. With those millions of dollars in Philly comes harsh criticism and fame...whether that is right or wrong. I am sure he can't eat a sandwich on South Street due to autograph hounds or Eagle fan rants. Anything his family does will be news. Michael Jordan's father died because of Jordan's fame. Tony Dungy's son's death was national news. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, BUT IT IS THE WAY IT IS. It comes with the job description, unfortunately.

Andy Reid is a sports icon? What has he ever won? He can't raise children. Drugs were being sold in HIS house. He takes a couple of weeks off and goes back to coaching. How about put HIS family first. These 25 yearold kids didn't start doing drugs just recently.

i think this is the problem with being an nfl coach you put in crazy hours and you never start rookie camps start now then regular camps then preseason then regular season then playoffs then you have to cut guys then you sign guys then you go to combines and pro days then you go to the draft then rookie camps start dam

Andy Reid is a good coach, but his sons have taken advantage of their father. Why does Andy let a 25 year old wanna be drug dealer live at his house. He needs to kick him to the curb if he doesn't want to be productive/responsible as an adult. This should be an Oprah topic not sports.
