It's about time!  Kiki Vandeweghe is definitely an up & coming GM.  He rebuilt Denver for the most part, and will retool the Nets into a balanced & formidable team.  I think there is a good base of talent on this team already, but I believe Kiki (with Rod Thorn's tutoring & mentoring) will get better!

The future looks bright!

This is what Kiki did as GM of Nuggets:

He brought Camby and the pick for Nene from the Knicks. He traded for Kenyon Martin (which gave the Nets the picks to get Vince Carter) He signed Andre Miller. He drafted Carmelo. He also drafted Jarret Jack and Jameer Nelson, but they were traded.

There were others that he signed as free agents, no superstars though.

He made a big splash with Harris, and he has shown the ability to get superstars, so I'm excited.

Ah, next year should be a good one for the Nets. Two first round picks in a draft with tons of talent, a new GM, the only thing left to do is get a new coach that can use his bench.

I think next year will be at least a .500 year.

I say..

With Frank back = 39-43

With ANY new coach = 46-36

 

I am really hard on the guy.. Just think he's an awful coach.  Nobody ever seems to get better under him. I expect the Nets to look for a young atletic swing man in this draft to play the 2 or 3.. If he pans out then I expect them to trade Jefferson in the middle of the season.
