personally I think the jump around is cheesy. I know Badger fans get excited for it, but it's nothing cutting edge or original. I remember doing Jump around in my High School bleachers when the song was brand new. Come to think of it, I think I have seen jump around and just about every kind of sporting event I have been to.
I'd be all about scrapping it and finding something a little more refined... something other than jumping around to a House of Pain song that is barely over a decade old... something that done at high school football games.

Come to think of it, I think I have seen jump around and just about every kind of sporting event I have been to.And yet the Camp Randall version has been put on top 10 cheers lists. The fact is, it's identified as being something you do at Badger games. It's ours.

You can tell fishstick has never been to Camp Randell. Its not even close to the same as it was at your high school or whatever. I am been in the student section during it and its a lot of fun. If you where a real Badger fan why would you be dissing it?

When I was a student at UW a couple of years ago, I had season tickets to all the home games. I just thought it was an awesome tradition and it was fun to do the Jump Around after the 3rd quarter. I even remember people protesting when they stopped it for a game because they were doing updates to the stadium and they were affraid of something collapsing.
Having the whole student section, probably close to 25,000 people, all jumping up and down is pretty cool. Now that I've graduated and see some of the games on tv, it just makes me feel glad I went there when the anouncers say they can feel the whole stadium shaking when Jump Around comes on.

Fresno State does the Jump Around too? As a proud Badger fan, I find that offensive.
I bet California's seismometers pick up our Jump Around. But they probly don't sense Fresnos

BOGUS. I remember when the upper deck used to sway because of how hard core the students went at it. Now pretty much 3/4 of the fans participate except old people who just point and laugh in delight. Why does California always try to steal our thunder...first it was the cheese now its our football traditions, who do they think they are??

I'm just saying it's unoriginal. UW might have the best Jump Around, but you can't really dog on Fresno State for doing it to when it's a fairly common practice. If Fresno State went out and spelled "Fresno" with their marching band during halftime, a la Ohio State, that'd be despicable... but again, we are talking about a tradition that is a decade old, tops, that is done (to some degree) just about everywhere.
It may be a blast in the stadium, but to base the tradition of a proud, century old, institution around a House of Pain song really says negative things. 100 years and we can't have a more solid tradition?

Nice Komacki! Nice...
I may be wrong here, but didn't we start Jump Around against Purdue in 1998?

It has definitely been around since the 2000 season, when I attended my first Badger game.
Does this mean we can have some sor of celebration of the 10-year anniversary?
