Why Is Taschner Still on the Roster?

His only job is to get left-handed hitters out and he can't even do THAT!!!  On Sunday against the Phillies, he starts the 7th inning of a 4-4 game and gets out Bruntlett (a weak right-handed hitter), but then he hits Utley and walks Howard.  Fortunately, Chulk was able to come in and put out the fire.

Then, yesterday, he comes into the 7th inning of a 4-4 game, throws a wild pitch, then gives up a big hit to Adam Laroche (a .202 hitter!!!) to put the Pirates ahead for good...again, Chulk had to come in and end the threat.

Taschner has the worse ERA of anyone in the bullpen now that Hennessey was sent down.  We need to send Taschner down to AAA for a while to join him.  We would be better off having Chulk, Yabu, Valdez, or Walker face the left-handed hitters.

I am not aware if Jack Taschner has any options left to be able to be sent down but if he doesn't the Giants need to look for someone to take a veteran lefty.  Erik Threets will be coming back to the bigs after his rehab in Fresno so that will add another lefty to the pen as Jack is the only one as of now. 

Here are two guys who deserve a shot Alexander Hinshaw 25 years old left handed .66 ERA, 18 K, 4 BB, 6 saves, .111 AVG against.  Geno Espineli 25 years old left handed .87 ERA, 14 K, 2 BB, 1 save, .211 AVG against.  Both would be a great addition to our pen to go along with Billy Sadler who just came up for Hennessey.
