After this 2009 season Phillip Rivers, Shawn Merriman, Marcus Mcneil, Vincent Jackson, and Luis Castillo may become free agents. After the 2010 season Antonio Gates and Antonio Cromartie may become free agents.
Bottom line is we are not going to be able to resign all these guys, some of them are the best at their position and will demand a lot of money. So the front office is going to have to pick and choose who we keep. Here is my opinion on who we keep.
-Rivers
-Mcneil
-Merriman
-Cromartie
Maybe we sign Jackson right away before he puts up big numbers so that we wont have to pay more for him later. I think we can find another DE . I love Castillo but we have to take a loss somewhere and we have Gates for 2 more years until he turns 29 then maybe we franchise tag him for 1 more year. But we definitely got to keep those four that I mentioned. Still Im looking forward to this season and the team that we have now who I think can win a championship, but I want to know which guys everybody thinks we have to keep to continue winning.
