Chris Paul has way more coverage then Deron Williams does just because Deron Williams plays in Utah and ESPN does not like Utah. Deron Williams owns Chris Paul every single time they play. There has only been 1 meeting since these two have been playing where Chris Paul has better stats then Deron Williams. Also look at what the Hornets did last year with Chris Paul at the point to what Deron Williams has done for Utah. Williams will be a far better point guard in three years.

DW is a great player, but Paul brought his game to a new level.

CP3 should have been MVP.

Both players are and will continue to be great in their respective systems.  D-Wil just fits in the Utah scheme.  Same for CP3 in N.O.

But to those making arguments - please be able to support them!  To everyone saying D-Wil is the superior defender - what!?  CP3 is 2nd team all NBA in defense and led the league in steals.   D-Wil is a fine defender, but he's certainly not superior to Paul.

And, of course, D-Wil can bury a three.  Which CP3 REALLY needs to work on.  Can you imagine how difficult defending the Hornets would be if Paul could nail some wide-open shots from behind the arc?

website can't handle excel

sorry

Total Minutes - cp3 3006  dw  3059
Total pts - cp3 1684  dw 1545
Total assists - cp3 925  dw 862
Total Rebounds - cp3 321  dw 243
how did paul have more rebounds than dw?????
Total Steals - cp3 217  dw 90
this is a part of defense isn't it?
Total Blocks - cp3 4  dw 23
           hey dw got one!
Total Turnovers - cp3  201  dw  279
this ones big because most Jazz fans say more the hornets goes through cp3 than dw, so this means cp3 handles the ball more making less mistakes, hummm......that means he is a better decision maker or at least he was in the 07-08 season

again dw is great, cp3 better

Ok 2 things... In 3 years, CP3 will still be putting up big numbers, but D-Will will be the better player, all around, defensively and offensively.   Too late Paul is already putting up big numbers.  He has to score and dish out assists because of how his team is set up nothing but jump shooters.  That is why Williams would fail here.  Paul's court vision and decision making is what makes him a better fit here.  Williams the bigger more physical PG who can shoot better from the outside and post up is a better fit with a more athletic Boozer and an out side shooter in Okur who can get inside as well.  But his decision making with passing is no where near Paul's that is apparent with the assist to turnover ratio you can say well his assists are close but he turns it over more when the ball is in his hands less.  That says A LOT.  You can give Paul his flack for whatever I'm not going to give Williams for a minor thing like turning it over 3 times or so during the season and then during the playoffs... 3.1 times to Paul's 1.5 times.  Assist to turnover ratio in the Playoffs 7.5 to 1 Paul 3.1 to 1 Williams.  Yeah can't compare the two.  Even in the regular season Paul had an over 4 to 1.  Similar numbers for Williams.  They fit with each others system.
And to Paul gets more coverage? Thats laughable he got little to no coverage before the All Star break.  Come the All Star game thats when it broke for him he starting getting notice and the MVP talks occurring more then just in New Orleans.  Now I'm not saying Utah is the major market place New Orleans isn't but before this year and before they starting selling out (before the MVP talks) there was little to no coverage I think a handful of nationally televised games.  I saw more games like the Cav's going against the likes the Hawks instead of the Hornets against the Warriors or the Spurs or something shame.

Now that's what I think is funny Chris Paul has his breakout season this year, has MVP talks (finishing 2nd) and it seems like everybody is joining the CP3 fan club, aren't you people forgetting that Deron Williams had his breakout season last year, so technically D-Will is so much better and high praises go to him, No it's not like that at all.

The reason why D-Will had his breakout year last season is the fact that players like Carlos Boozer, Andrei Kirilenko, and Matt Harpring where healthy for the year, hence for his breakout and Utah's success.

The reason why CP3 is having a breakout year this season is players like Peja Stojakovic, Tyson Chandler, David West, and CP3 himself where healthy for year, hence for his breakout and New Orleans success.

Just like Schmalzel put it "they fit each others system". With CP3 he's thriving in the Hornets system and would thrive with the Warriors, Suns *, and Mavericks * just to name a few cause they like the up-tempo style. (* before the coaching changes). With D-Will he's thriving in the Jazz system and would thrive with the Lakers, Rockets, Spurs just to name a few cause they like the half-court style.

As for coverage both really don't get that much because of the teams they play for. And really the only reason why they would be on national TV if they where playing the Lakers, Suns, Spurs just to name a few, so with coverage there even.

So in ending who's the next best PG how about this neither one of them better, cause as a Jazz fan I think these post are ridiculous about who's better than the other, and we all should just watch them play there game.
