Ya ever have one of those rounds?  Yeah we all do.  I had three birdies today and shot a 79.  I only hit 5 greens and couldn't get it up and down.  Been used to playing champion bermuda greens and played bent today.  Makes me question why I play golf.  I gotta get off my home track more often.  I'm thinkin bout taking up tennis.  Or maybe I should take up drinkin and drivin..... on the course I mean.

If you are upset at a 79, maybe golf isn't your sport.  I'd be doing cartwheels and buying everyone in the clubhouse a beer after the start I had to this year.  Then again, my handicap is probably a bit higher than yours.

I shoot 79 EVERY time I play....then I go ahead and finish holes 16,17 and 18.

I just enjoy playing.  If I can stay in the low 90's I am pretty happy.  Just a great way to spend some time...on the course.

Actually guys I totally understand what you're saying.  Golf is mostly about perception.  It's also a weird game.  Shot 79 two days ago and 71 today.  That's still over par but golf is the one game that everybody can play even, due to the handicap system.  Honestly, when you play in handicapped tournaments there is absolutely no advantage to being a scratch player.  I get beat all the time by guys who are 10 to 18 handicaps because I don't get any strokes.  What a great game this is we have.  Being 48 years old and 7 months removed from back surgery I still enjoy every second of being on the course..... even if it hurts like hell an hour after I finish.  It's worth it to me just to be out there competing with myself against the course.  Gotta love it.  It doesn't matter what your handicap is just as long as you have fun.  I think the best lesson I ever got was pretty much just a comment.  No matter how you play today.... the sun comes up tomorrow.  Have fun..... drink a beer and don't worry about the score..... unless you're playing for money.  :)
