There is not a "huge " edge for the Lions at QB nor is there more depth at that position for the LIons. Both teams don't have good qbs. Kitna throws more ints than tds and that is never good when discussing quarterbacks!!
Who do the lions have a rb that is better than anything the Bears have there? Tatum Bell?? The guy is brutal. He ran for a 1000 yards in Denver and look what every running back besides Portis does when they leave Denver....absolutely nothing!!
The Bears have two, possibly three with there recent draft pick, tight ends that are better than Detroit's #1 tight end!!
Even if Tommie Harris doesn't stay healthy, the Bears d-line is WAY better than Detroit's.
Cb's are not a tie either....Kelly has played about a season worth of football the last two years, so I don't know where you are getting the idea that the Bear's have injury-prone cb's. Tillman and Vasher were injured last year, but haven't had any problems before that...one injury does not mean "injury-prone".

Once again you don't know what you are talking about. The Lion's offensive scheme is far different from the Bear's. We ask our TE's to BLOCK. Ya Greg Olsen and that other guy you drafted can run sub- 4.5's but they aren't even close to the blockers that Dan Cambell and Michael Gains' are. I'm not bashing Olsen becasue I like him a lot, he is going to have a Jeremey Shockey like impact, I'm just saying that you can't compare the Lion's TE's with the Bear's TE's because they are asked to do different things within the offense.
Unlike you, we don't need our TE to contribute in the passing game. Why would we when we have Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, Mike Furrey, and Shaun McDonald on the outside? Heck. Even Devale Ellis, Troy Walters, and our new kid, Kenny Moore.
Lion's fans: But how great is it on that one play every couple games when our TE would go out on a passing route, be wide open, and rumble for a 30 yard gain!!! Cambell did it a handfull of times 2 years ago and Sean McHugh did it last season.

DaBearsBullsSox-
The Lions do have more depth at QB...WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? The Lions drafted Drew Stanton last year in the 2nd round and he could be our QB of the future! The Bears have Orton who has already proved to be a back-up at best... Don't be a HOMER! I judged both teams as objectively as possible. Jon Kitna or Rex Grossman...come on dude, that's such an easy call, Grossman sucks! At least Kitna's thrown for 4000yds two seasons in a row!!!!! The difference between the 2 QB's is that they both turn the ball over but Kitna also produces! HUGE EDGE Lions!!!!!!
Funny thing about Tatum Bell running for 1000yds in Denver's system is the the Lions are going to run DENVER'S Zone system THIS YEAR!!!!! Who do the Bears have??? Cedric Benson? hahahahahh come on dude, you know you hate that guy! Forte is an unproven rookie just like Smith. EDGE Lions. Cedric might end up getting cut for his DWI anyway. Serious Edge Lions.
CB's are a TIE!!!!! If Kelly and Bodden stay healthy and Vasher and Tillman stay healthy, it's a tie! Lions win the tie breaker in the secondary from having a better group at safety!!
You know that Urlacher hates Grossman because he can't lead the team. Without a QB that your team can trust, the whole dynamic goes out the window. Bears will not win more than 6 games next year because Grossman is leading the team! It's like laughing at Vikes fans when they expect Tjack to take them to the SB....give me a break!!!!!!

Sim -
I never said that the Lions qbs weren't better... what I said was that it isn't like we are comparing Grossman to Brady. Kitna/stanton may be better than Grossman/Orton, but it isn't by much, if at all. You have no idea how good Stanton, first of all. The guy could be brutal. Secondly, you throw that 4000 yards stat around like it means something. With those receivers in that offense they ran, there aren't many qbs that wouldn't be able to throw for 4000 yards. The really interesting stat is that Kitna has yet to throw more tds than ints since he joined the LIons...The Bears have more proven depth at qb than the Lions do.
Tatum Bell rushed for 182 yards all of last year!! He will most likely open the year backing up an unproven rookie and showed up to mini-camp overweight!! He backed up a running back that the LIons cut in the off season. He's worth about as much as Benson's worth. Also, nobody does the zone-blocking scheme like the Broncos used to, so don't even start comparing the Lions offensive line to that of the Broncos!!
Bears will not win more than 6 games next year because Grossman is leading the team! It's like laughing at Vikes fans when they expect Tjack to take them to the SB....give me a break!!!!!!
Grossman has already led this team to a Super Bowl so to say that it can't be don't sounds a little ignorant, don't you think? With the pieces, T-Jack has around him, it wouldn't surprise me if the Vikings went to the Super Bowl this year either. Both of those teams have something Detroit is the worst in the league in...a great defense.

Are you talking about the Bear's great defense that allowed the Lion's to set an NFL record for most points scored in the 4th quarter? Your defense is on the decline. Urlacher is a BEAST, no one can deny that, but he is very unhappy right now. Briggs is good but overated IMHO. He looks better because of who he is playing next to. Harris is a premier DT but injury prone. Mark Anderson has also shown promise but other then that question marks surrond your defense.
I'm not saying the Lion's defense is much better, but we're no the one's relying on our defense to get us to the playoffs.

What are you relying on? A special teams unit thats one of the worst in the league? Or maybe the 19th best offense in the league last year?

I was referring to the year they went to the Super Bowl. They had a great defense that year, just like how the Vikings defense looks to be extremely good this year.

Your a real piece of work DaBearsBullsSox. You praise the Bears offense of having the edge over the Lions. And yet you thrive on Kitna TD's and INT's record like there's some kind of meaning of not being benched like some other player(whom had more INT's than TD's last season too), but also, Grossman chokes on the big one. The Bears total offense was mediocre and didn't improve but declined last season.
Grossman has already led this team to a Super Bowl so to say that it can't be don't sounds a little ignorant, don't you think?
No!!! The Bears defense and special teams led the Bears to the Super Bowl would be a more genuine statement. Putting Grossman on a pedestal for that season is an exaggeration by Bears fans. You should stop reading the Chicago newspapers and listening to Bears fans.

44 attempts by Bell, 153 attempts by Kevin Jones, and 196 attempts by Cedric Benson... thats just one more carry. The Lions are no longer under the Mike Martz passing offense. I really hope | |
