Thats bullsh**. First of all it says Meche in the title and then you change it to Greinke, we dont need starting pitchers, and Rick Ankiel is the future of our outfield. If our trying to stir up some Royals excitement at least make it realistic.

We would never do that deal and we would never trade somebody that good to the Royals.

There is no way the Royals would trade Meche or Greinke. The Royals are building from the bottom up and the philosophy is starting pitching first. Not to say the Royals couldn't use Ankiel, the offensive had been offensive, however, they're not going to give either of their two best starters for him.

Well, evando, it's an interesting rumor. Greinke has talent, but hasn't he had some mental issues in the past? The Royals, as I recall, had to shut him down at some point a year or so ago, and it was not a physical issue. Perhaps you can fill us in on the details.
The Cardinals do have Colby Rasmus in AAA, who they fancy as their CF of the future. However, Rasmus is off to a slow start, and the Cardinals' outfield has been doing fine. Five guys out there who TLR mixes and matches game to game.
I don't see the Cards trading Ankiel for Greinke (or Meche) at this time, but I could see why the Cards would have interest there. Mulder, Clement, and Carp are all weeks, perhaps months, away from returning. Also, Ankiel's agent is Scott Boras, so perhaps the Cards' brass is anticipating a battle with Boras down the road that they'd just as soon avoid.

What if it was Duncan instead of Ankiel? Now that sounds tasty.

To the one person.....yes, Grienke did have an issue with depression. I believe he has it under control now and I applaud him for it.
If the Cardinals trade Ankiel I will personally fly to St Louis and....well....I won't do much probably other than grab a few beers at Shannon's. Ankiel IS STL. He embodies what STL is all about.
Now, trading Duncan..........that could be nice for Meche or Grienke. We have Barton and Colby Rasmus somewhere.

I dont think that the Cardinals would trade Rick Ankiel for Zach Grienke. I would trade any of our other outfielders: Duncan, Barton, Ludwig or Schumaker. However, I think that Ankiel and Rasmus will be the future for years. We also have Joe Mather, that could do something in the next year or two. Plus, we will be in excess of SP when Carpenter and Mulder get healthy after the all star break. Now, I would love to give up Duncan and Piniero for Meche. I would like them to do that.

Why would you give any thought to a rumor coming out of Cape Girardeau?
Now I would imagine the Cardinals will be shopping their OF's for pitching. Who it is they will be shopping - I have no idea, but I can tell you that if they trade one of their OF's it won't be for a month or two. The trade deadline is around July and no team is totally out of their division yet. Usually when teams are way out of 1st place, they start doing some shopping.

Cards have a savage yard of pitchers if they all should get healthy Cards pitching staff would be priceless, but if that deal would come up i would trade Ankiel for Meche nothing at all against Ankiel , but pitchers this day and age are priceless........ and lets not forget ankiel is not a spring chicken anymore

...sounds pretty dangerous, doesn't it? Savages being kept in the Cardinals' yard? Whether a chicken's a 'broiler' or just a bit older, those savages might just be cannibals and consume Ankiel outright...leaving no trade 'bait' whatsoever!! ;-/
