We are looking at the next great player in baseball.  The Marlins got off cheap on this one as many people thought he would be the next 200 million dollar man.  Love this guy next 40/40 player for sure.  Great job by the Marlins keeping him around for the long term.

Great deal for the Marlins and their fans! Two world series in 10 years and more on the horizon!

Its good to see the Marlins actually try to compete and sign their players instead of being just like a Triple A team giving their good players away.

You are correct....his agent should be fired! What an idiot. ESPN is going to have a field day with this one. Lets see if the contract has been signed yet and lets see if all the media influence will make Ramirez change his mind....he is an idiot if he doesn't...

on the flip side...great job by the Marlins if they land him for that long at that price

Being a Marlins fan I never thought they would lock up Hanley. I thought Hanley would fall victim to another huge fire sale in a couple of years like the marlins are famous for. It's sort of a joke. Keeping Hanley in South Florida is huge for the marlins and they got him cheap for what he would've gotten on the free agency market.

How dumb of a response can one possibly sputter out?  When your team can win 2 World Series in the last years then talk.( unless a Red Sox fan).  I'm imagining your a team homer who only knows his team and says hah those Marlins they have no payroll and no fans, they suck.  It's about winning Championships, and I can guarantee the Marlins have more young and up and coming studs then your team would dream about.  The stadium deal is done, and this Marlin team can now have a higher payroll with already having a squad that can compete right now!  If I was a Marlin fan I would be excited.

With all the talent that the scouts continue to find it's nice to see that they can finally start to keep them.  This is good news for any baseball fan.

Good, necessary move for that organization.  Attendance might hit 1,000 now.
