I think Evgeni Malkin is the best player in the NHL. He has certainly been the best player in the league since the all star break, and I dont think that will end next season. So am I crazy?

Best since allstar break means nothing, best player going right now is Johan Franzen, does that make him best in the nhl? no. Looking at year long play, quality of line mates, and team ovechkin tops malkin.

It doesn't mater who's the best in my opinion. It only matters who carries that cup around at the end of the season. If Malkin and Crosby can swallow their egos and play "team" hockey, I say that is cause for each to be given that much more credit. It's not every superstar that can share the credit and those that can generally walk off, or in this case skate off with the trophy!
Oh, and to answer your question GS, IMO you are completely bonkers!

Nothing crazy about thinking Malkin is the best in the NHL. Right here, right now, at this point and time...he is the MVP and best player in the NHL. Yesterdays game was amazing and proof he is just an animal. I cant wait for Sunday.

To be honest, I've always more nervous when Malkin has the puck than Crosby.
I think Malkin's tougher to get off the puck and also possesses a better shot. He's also more of a physical presence.

Crazy? No. Wrong? I think so. Nithing crazy about confusing the number 2 for the number 1. (Although I do feel that the best overall player in the league is Niklas Lidstrom, but between these two Ovie is the better one).

Your not crazy..........the minute he put an NHL jersey on I knew this guy was going to light it up. Crosby came along when the NHL needed a poster boy to hype the game. I dont think he will ever be what Malkin and Ovechkin already are, BEASTS. Sad to say my MALKIN #71 jersey has been in a closet since the start of the playoffs, who knows it may see the light of day next round, we shall see?? GO Flyers!!

Ovechkin is the best, for now. Malkin is still learning, quickly. Give him time.

Since there are only 4 teams in the NHL playing at the moment. Right now I think he is the best player left in those 4 teams. I do however think that Ovechkin is the better player between the two. Malkin has room to grow. I can say Crosby, Malkin, and Ovechkin will be constantly disputed for years to come. That to me means only good things for hockey. All three of the will probably be entered into the hall of fame after retirement(provided they stay playing this well through their careers).
