Did anyone hear about the team fight that broke out at mini-camp. The fight involved over 80 of the players.
I'm not sure what to think about this. What does everyone else think?

At first I thought, crazy! Not good. Then I began to ponder a bit. If it's going to happen, better now. With a lot of uncertainty going on under the new staff, a lot of new and not so new players fighting for jobs, this was good to get out of the way. Sometimes an argument or a fight [unfortunately] is what's sometimes needed to break the ice/tension, etc. These players will now put this behind them and be better off should they just bury any indifferences.
I say, let's move forward and learn from any ill feelings any players may previously had. I think in the end it will prove to be a positive brawl. As long as they don't revert to this. It's over and done, hopefully.

Positive! Great! Stupendous! Whatever you want to call it....if they are out of control on gameday then they have a problem. But if they show up pissed off and looking for somebody to take it out on then Harbaugh's got them right where he wants them. Even Ray has said he loves John's energy and passion. You don't fight about things if you have no passion for. Maybe not everyone will agree with me but I've always loved the rage and energy that a good fight brings out of me.

It's fairly common for fights to break out in training camps. The guys are cramming new playbooks, conditioning, doing two-a-days, and collliding with people all over the place. Not to mention that only 45 will make the game-day roster, and 54 for the full roster. Does not leave a lot of room for error. At some point someone's going to lose it. They always get it together by the start of the season. I think it's a good thing. Mike Preston will revel in it. No more "Camp Cupcake". Nothing like a little competitive tension to raise everybody's games.

When I saw this article it brought a smile to my face.
these guys are fired up, they want to win and they want to win now.
The vets are still pissed about last season, and the new guys are fighting for jobs and respect so everybody had a lot of energy built up that they needed to get out
A good brawl always brings a team together.
The rest of camp, the pre-season, and the season will go smoothly.

The previous messages mention all of the positives I was thinkin of. I could also see some negatives. Does Harbaugh have control of the team? Billick clearly lost control of the team but could it possibly be the team and not Billick's fault?
This sure doesn't help the "thug" image that many of the fans of other teams seem to have about us.
I thought it was funny when the article mentions Rex Ryan sitting back and laughing at it all.

I think its been blown up out of proportion, its natural to cuss and strike at your own teammates in heated moments as long as you leave it on the field and shake hands, I guarantee you those two rookie linemen respect each other more, theres truth in the saying "You dont really know someone till you fight them". Its funny that some of the vets laughed at the mini brawl before enforcing the back to buisness message.
Im more happy that everybodys there and not training halfassed.

The Ravens organization is one that is in dire need of stress relief. The brawl at Mini-Camp might be the stress releif that everyone needed.
The one way to fix a problem is to blow it up and slowly put back the pieces that need to be fixed and throw out the ones that don't.
I am not commending the actions of the Raven Players I am saying that what else can go worng with an organization that is at rock bottom.
The QB situation is terrible, the passing game is not existent and the running game just was hit with OT Jonathan Odgen wanting to retire.
The Defense has taken this team on its back for 8 years now it is just been requested to take it on again this year. Now what do you think could possibly fix this problem.
The Ravens are a solid team but with the parts of the puzzle not working together the only way is to let them work it out then take action to prove it.

No more "Camp Cupcake". Nothing like a little competitive tension to raise everybody's games.
If the team is going to mesh well the hammer has to drop and the bell has to ring loud.
When you are literaly fighting for a spot that may not exist the best way to find a niche is to push those ahead of you to the very max they can stand.
I feel that veteran players like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrel Suggs will find a way to beat the odds and fix the situation.
In the heat of battle it is the strong and wise that come to the rescue and find a way to put an end to the fight at hand.

Hey these Guys are fighting for a dream and a job. The men whom have the jobs are fighting to keep them from the younger men whom are trying to take them away. We see this natural occurence in Nature every day. If all of this leads to the playoffs, I say----RELEASE THE HOUNDS!

"Fight your teammates in minicamp, Fight for your job in pre-season, Fight with your teammates during the regular season, Fight for the ring in the post-season"
As long as this helps the Ravens with the last fight, I say bring it on.

this is what we get for firing billick. good job harbaugh.
if we fired billick, we needed a guy who would've brought more discipline...and marty said he would've considered the Ravens. o well, looks like it will get worse before it gets better.

I gotta kinda agree with justify. One of the reasons that Billick was fired was because he did not have control of the tea | |
