OK PERCY...as promised here is my pre - pre season top 25...

1. Ohio State...weak conference and they bring  everyone back how can you not like this team..

2. MIzzou...Will ahve a rough ride but they are very good..totaly hosed out of BCS game last year..Teh Rose ball should have sacked up and gone non-traditional..

3. OU.. Too Much talent not to challenge for the Big 12 titile

4. Florida..If they can run and defend and cut down Tebow's carries...they should win the SEC

5. USC...look awful good on paper in a top heavy conference

6. Georgia...Had a great run to finsih the year off...history does not bode well for the DAWGS

7. Wisky...Ohio State better be ready for this team

8. Arizona State...could win the Pac 10 this year with some luck..

9. Clemson...well someone has to win the ACC...and who  ever it is ..most likely Clemson they will be overrated and put in the top 10

10. Kansas...can they do it  again?....I think so..

11. South Florida...They have some tough road dates..going to Louisville, Cincy and West Virginia...they win 2 of 3 they could be the BE Champs..

12. Oregon...Should be the third best team in the  Pac 10

13. LSU...I am sure I will take a beating  for this one..but as I have said on other posts they lost a ton of talent on both sides fo the ball including this years starting QB...I can't bring myself move them any higher..and remember last years outstanding team lost  to 2 middle of the pack SEC teams ..and one of them was  critical last game at home!

14. Texas...this team will go as Colt MCCoy goes...they could be slotted here or completley out of the top 25..

15. West Virginia..They have a favorable schedule..outside of goig to Colorado and Louisville...They get Auburn at home along with the majority of tough BE games...if they can show  they can fill the gaps on defense and have the  ability to play the pass..and get by thier OOC games.Get the new coaching stafff to gell...this team could make another run at the NC....a lot of ifs!!

16. Auburn...See WV...they seem to have alot of the same if's..new offense..will it work??..if it does they will make a push for the SEC Championship..

17. Texas Tech..Ok I am drinking the Kool Aid like everyone else...I really don't see how they get through IMHO the Best Conference in the Country...but we will leave them here..

18. Illnois...I had some trouble putting them here without really knowing  how they are going to run the ball..Juice Wiiliams IMHO is overrated..but they should make some noise in the mediocre Big 10..

19 . BYU..there is a case they should start the year higher...They  are going to be very good..

20. Fresno State..and this team is as well..ask Texas A&M about how these kids can play..

21. Tennessee...The enigma team of College Football...every year this team should be better than thier results...losing an outstanding QB and the heart of the defense in Mayo is not going to help...this is really a gift to rank them at 21..

And the rest....

22. Rutgers

23. Va Tech

24. Penn State

25. Louisville...yes this looks like a HOMER conference call but I really see the Cards under thier second year with Kragthorpe re-establishing themselves  they stil have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball to be extremely dangerous.....

There you have it Percy...

OK PERCY...as promised here is my pre - pre season top 25...

Thanks Slaton.

2. MIzzou

Like it.

10. Kansas...can they do it  again?....I think so..

Tougher schedule which will equal 3-4 losses atleast.

15. West Virginia

Thanks for not being a homer but I'm not taking the bait. Seriously 15th?

11. South Florida...

A little to high but not a over the top. I'll be rooting for the Bulls when they face Kansas.

Now tell me again how U of L is "=" to LSU and Florida?

A nice poll with a different outlook that could make you look like a genious. Good work.

Slaton, I think your list is pretty good, as these lists go.  As a Dawg, I have no problem with the #6 ranking.  Not sure if OU, Mizzu, and Florida are better but they're all pretty close.

Georgia ? marks-
1. O-Line - If Ben Jones (true fresh) can step in and start at center, keeping the line from having to shuffle around, we'll be solid here.  If not, I don't know, they're all still young.

2. D-Tackle-We'll need someone to step up and keep -the pressure off Rennie Currin and a solid LB corp.

3. Secondary - Gave up too many big plays, but have some talent back there.

4. Kicker- Lost big leg to the NFL, have big leg coming in from Florida.

Georgia strengths -
1. RB - This has been covered.  If Caleb King can contribute just a little, the combo of King and Moreno will be the best combo in the country.

2. QB - Yes, I said it.  Matthew Stafford had a solid year last year (19 TD, 10 Int), but threw much less as the season wore on. He still misses WAY too many wide open receivers.  Is still just a junior.

3. LB -Great group, smaller but lots of speed and like to hit.

4. Receiver - Very deep, some big bodies and some speed.  Best group of the CMR era, but that's not tough to say.  Just CATCH the damn ball, too many drops.

I have zero problem with Slaton ranking the Dawgs where he does, but the excuse of history doesn't bode well for UGA is silly.

I didn't realize history bode well for Missouri. Jes sayin'.....

[VT] lost some players that really didn't help that offense to begin with. I don't see that offense being as bad as last years. Statistically its got to get better.
PercyHarvin,

What are you basing this off of?  Why does it have to get better? VT lost their top 4 receivers, best running back, and the next two on the depth chart are injured.  Even if they come back in time for the season they miss out on a lot of summer and fall practice.  How can you say the top 4 receivers and top 3 running backs didn't help the offense to begin with?  I didn't see any consistency at QB from either Glennon or Taylor to be optimistic about their offense next year.  The only thing VT has going for it offensively is the O-line, but last year their O-line was supposed to be pretty good too, but they didn't do much offensively.  And I wouldn't attribute VT's lack of offense to great defense being played against them.
