We lost this game because because we couldn't hit a damn freethrow. Im not worry at all though because just like the Celtics, the Jazz are a different team on the road.

when kobe gets hurt the Lakers get exposed for the bad team they really are.  people go crazy like the lakers bench is best in the league blah blah blah.  they are nothing outside of kobe and pau.

let me explain some of the calls as i saw them guys... As a referee of basketball, there are several calls that were flat out missed or called by the wrong man...

the Lakers Jazz game had a few calls where the trail official - the guy back near center - made calls under the basket with his vision blocked by the guy with the ball or a screen. that is NOT his call in the first place.. there are 2 officials focused on the key and one is on-ball on the baseline - the best view of all contact and activity in the paint and the other off-ball on the wing - best view on weak side watching for screens and weak-side rotations.

there were a few calls that come to mind where the trail called Derrick Fisher underneath for a foul on a shot or a weak hand call... NOT HIS CALL. it happened 3 feet from the lead official and they wonder why the guys complain.. not that every call is not visible to all these officials, but the reason they have 3 refs is the cover the floor as the men are big, quick and plays happen very quickly. That is one reason you see Tim Duncan whine a lot... and guys like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett walk to the official who was in position, not necessarily the guy who made the call.. they are wondering why the call under the glass was made from outside the arc..

i have seen it in all the series but it has been very bad in the Jazz Lakers series... the Pistons Magic game 1 was bad, but the last one was not too bad while the Hornets Spurs series has been awful.

Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Chauncey Billups, Rasheed Wallace - he gets a lot of these types of calls against him.. this year he has decided not to complain all the time, but he is justified a lot to argue where the call was made from.. Chris Paul, Deron Williams - these guys are getting fouled, but not the calls yet consistently... of course DF got labelled yesterday with cheap calls - except the one on Carlos Boozer... most hand checks on the perimeter are missed, perhaps the ref is cheating and watching the guys like Dwight Howard and Tyson Chandler pound away inside... those are the calls that drive the guys nuts...

if you noticed on the good no call on the almost back over that the trail official was late to the center, i suspect he was cheating inside the paint as he job is to watch the center line for that type of play.. hope this helps abit guys... the basketball has been FANtastic so far hasn't it??
