Don't worry about ol' DirtBag. He'll drink for FREE anywhere in Long Beach for the rest of his life. Life is GOOD for DirtBag. He'll be just fine.
DirtBag's Cibderella Story was FAR better than Immelman's. Immelman won't drink ANYWHERE in the USA for free.
BTW ... I lived in Long Beach when I was a child. My Dad had just gotten out of the Navy and taken a job at Ford as a computer programmer. I went to Cubberley Elementary skOOl. A girl named Karen showed me her ... ummmm ... parts behind some bushes at skOOl ... it didn't interest me much at the time. That all changed years later when I discovered a "use" for those "parts".
I got eaten alive by red ants in them days. Those SOBs would bite ya right in the soft spot between the toes of yer bare feet. OUCH!!!
I played shortstop and pitched for our peewee baseball team as a 6-year old in a 7+ year league. My Dad was instrumental in introducing the 10" ball (as opposed to the regulation 9" hardball). The ball couldn't be thrown quite as fast, or hit as hard as a regulation ball. That, in hindsight, was a GREAT innovation for that age group. Pitcher's couldn't overwhelm young learning batters ... and strong hitters couldn't drill the ball down an infielder's throat. It gave all involved an opportunity to learn the basics of The Game, AND HAVE FUN. It evened the playing field in an age group that was often unevenly matched.
Anyway ... I have fond memories of Long Beach ... and I wish those DirtBags well.
