This is the third annual Fantasy Football ratings! Some of you will remember from years past I will try to do the top 24 at all offensive positions. It will be a collective vote and will create a nice fantasy cheat sheet for your draft.
So who are you taking as the top fantasy QB for 2008?
If you vote other please write in your choice and it will be tallied (though I doubt there should be an "other" this early.)

This one is a no brainer. Everyone's list should have Brady 1 Manning 2, then those other four guys in any particular order with a sprinkling of Derek Anderson here and there.

I have to say the following
1. Peyton Manning (Will continue to be an elite QB but the OL is being retooled and will lower stats slightly
2. Drew Brees Will be focused to pass heavy in order to keep Reggie Bush and Deuce McCallister able to continue to run the ball
3. Tom Brady (Aging Defense and questionable OL will lower overall QB rating)
4. Ben Roethlisberger will have to pass more than run this year. The run game will be the focus of the team but will need to pass to keep opposing Defenses honest
5. Tony Romo, last years stats were inflated slightly, will be an elite QB next year but the age factor to Terrell Owend and Company has to come into question.

I missed Carson Palmer in this thread with the antics of Chad Johnson and T.J. I can not even see hiom get any where near what he has done in the past.
I think the sleeper will be David Garrard, like Big Ben will gets the stats via setting up the pass with the NFLs #2 RB tandam

I truely beleive that Manning and Brady are 1a and 1b but Romo and Brees could be right there depending on the performance of their respective receivers. I think if Harrison is healthy again Manning might have a slight edge but if he is not Brady has a decided advantage.
Either way talent wise their are two top tier quarterbacks and a second tier with probably 6-8 guys that could compete for number 3.
Just my opinion.

I agree, Brady, Manning, Romo...
But for those that are expecting 35+ td's from Brady, don't count on it. It is rare a player duplicates an amazing season (ask anyone who took manning #1 after his 49 TD's). The average 2000 yard back has a drop off of 1000 yards and 9 TD"s the next year. Rice's worst non-rookie season early in his career was after the record setting one.
A simple statistical fact called regression to mean shows over and over that when a player has an outlier season (one extraordinarily better, or worse than their average), that they don't do it the next year. I do think he will do better than his average season with his receiving corps, but 30-35 TD's is my expectation. So I will pass on him in the first round this year, and get a 2nd tier QB again later. BTW I did have Brady in both my leagues last year too. It was awesome... I just don't expect that output again...

Manning and Brady seem to rotate about every other year, so I'll take Manning as 1a and Brady as 1b this year. I think Romo will put up some hellaciuos numbers too, and not be far behind.

If you are drafting Tom Brady this year have Drew Brees or Big Ben to back him up because I do not think his number will match what he has had the past 3 years.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will of course be the favorites this year, but I think everyone will need to give Tony Romo a serious look this season. The Cowboys have added a really good looking receiving TE to the team and with Felix Jones most likely coming in on third downs, simple swing passes and screens can go all the way at any time.
I really like the fact that there are legitimate threats at every skill position, and then you factor in one of the best O lines in the league and this spells huge problems for any defense.
Look for HUGE numbers from the 'Boys this year.

I like Brady, Manning, Anderson (he and B.Edwards awesome hook-up), Brees, Romo, Carson Palmer if the Bengals improve O.line...I started Palmer and T.J. last season and they caught hell cause the defense could not stop anybody, keeping them on the field throwing...

I'd go with Tom Brady. He has one of the, if not the best offensive line, in football. Everybody can point out the pressure he faced in the Super Bowl, but let's realize two things.
1) The Giants had THE best front four when it came to getting to the quarterback. Not even close, either.
2) They only had one bad game. They are just as likely to do poorly in the Super Bowl as any other game. Just because they're competing for the championship doesn't mean they're immune to off days.
Secondly, he's got Randy Moss to throw to. Brady is one of the most accurate quarterbacks, one of the smartest, and he can launch them (not the best arm strength, but pretty good...and amazing technique). Combine that with the speed that Moss has, as well as the combination of his size and vertical jump, and you've got the most dangerous quarterback/receiver combination in the league....possibly in history (Rice is legendary, but even he can't match up with Moss athletically).
He's got Welker to make tons of catches and get medium yards. Faulk and Maroney should get screens. Gaffney and Watson will put up decent numbers.
I can't see him coming close to his numbers from last year, but if he gets only 60% of the touchdowns and 80% of the yards, that's STILL 30 touchdowns and over 3800 yards. That's 332 points. So, uh, yeah....if you don't think Brady is the clear cut choice, then maybe you need to get your head checked.
