The person who comes to mind when you start thinking defense on this list is Melky Cabrera. With Jose Molina a distant second.

I agree with Rich4Raiders. Melky has been very impressive patrolling center field this season, and Molina would come to mind for his snap throws and pitch-blocking ability secondly. While Molina's throws have been on-target all season, his Caught Stealing % is lower than what you'd like it to be... and he forgot how to hit this year...

Melky's arm is for real. Melky also has been snagging almost every flyball hit at him, and gong back on ball very well.. even if he hasnt been making "sportscenter" catches, he has been super-solid out there.

The one thing about Cano though is he makes it look so easy everything is so smooth for him.

i no hes not on the poll, but i think giambi has done better then expected at first. He has made some good plays, and really hasnt missed many. Im not saying he is a good fielder, melky is by far the best, but he is doing a good job

Im gonna take the high route and go with Johnny Damon he's been an all around good ballplayer. his bat has consistantly produced offense for us. and defensively he's been amazing. However Melky Cabrera is in a very close second the only thing i have to say about melky is at times hit bat wasn't what it should be and defensively he's a mastermind. One thing we can all agree on is Cut Wilson Betemit from the yanks. If there were a separate team called the Butters' comprised of baseballs worst players im confident he would captain it.

You know what, Giambi has finally caught up to his defensive prowess in the video game.

He's looking smooth out there at first ase.
