Who do you think will run for the most yards in their rookie season?

This was a deep rb draft and may be known for that for yrs to come.  I see a ton of potential,  but then again ~ You know what that rock on top of that hill and a rookie running back have in common?  Potential.   yep thats all they got.

here, Ill get on with that..

Because The Panthers are so thin at RB I think Jonathan Stewart runs for over 1000 yards in his rookie campaign.  workman-like.

Mc Fadden will lead in yards per carry, but he will have to split the carries more than smith or stewart.   What if the Bears decide to dump Benson? could forte be a dark horse, an eight bells?

I would have to give the edge to Smith, only because the carries will be there for him more than the other backs that were drafted.

McFadden will split with LaMont Jordan and Huggy-Bear's kid...it doesnt look like the Bears are going to get rid of Benson yet, and once he gets better Stewart will split with DeAngelo Williams...

All that being said...there might not be a rookie RB to go over 1,000yds this year.  I wouldnt bet on it...but I wouldnt be surprised either.

My vote is for stewart with Felix Jones a close second. Good teams can afford to run the ball more and rotate backs. i think dallas will try to save barber for the playoffs and keep his work load down. Plus lower numbers lower contract demands.

K.Smith will have a good year but he will only be as good as our O-line.

I'm going to be a homer and pick Smith. Mendenhall is going to split carries along with Mcfadden. Mendenhall has Willie Parker ahead of him and Mcfsdden has Jordan, Fargas and Bush to compete with.Stewart should put up some good numbers, but Smith only has to beat out Bell to become our starter. Along the same lines is Forte,he only has to beat out Benson. I think with our change in offensive stradegy to run the ball more Smith will have alot more carries then all of these rb's. So it comes down to Forte and Smith and my money is on Smtih.Who knows Forte could be better then Smith but I highly doubt it.

your right mauling Mcfadden i believe will become a bust i never really liked him he has character issues to Felix Jones will be alot better then him i believe and Mcfadden dose not even have a o-line to help him out plus Jordan is in front of him and dont count out last years pick Micheal Bush he has really stepped up this year and worked hard to get back so dont count him out form fighting for the job.

I still think Mendenhall is the best RB in this draft but he will not get the bulk of the carries over Fast Willie as a rookie. Stewart will probably get a pretty even number of carries in Carolina so i will go with him. McFadden may have the most over all yards as he will be used as a receiver but there is absolutely no way he has the most rushing yards from scrimage or the most yards per carry unless the other rookies all go down by mid season!!!!!  Can any one say BUST!!!!

Tough call

Thats a tough call...Mcfadden is the most talented but the Raiders line is the worst of the 5.  Mendenhall will get less than half the carries..(if that).  Forte will not start this year i dont think.

That leaves Stewart and Smith.    I think its between those 2....Will Stewart win the job over Williams....theres a good chance...will he split carries with williams? Probably.

The same questions hold true for Smith.

I would like to say Smith, who knows? under the new system i would say it could happen...but for now...Stewart gets the most yards of the 5.

Jordan is in front of him and????  No hes not.. he didnt get his job back when he was healthy last year(at the end). He will not be on the roster. Mcfadden will start every game he is healthy...Bush and Fargas will back him up. Bush will take short yardage and some goalline...fargas will do some 3rd downs and pass patterns.

Mendenhall won't be able to steal enough carries from fast Willie Parker.

Darren McFadden isn't in the best situation and Fargas ran for 1000yds last year so he will be in the mix. I think McFadden will be a McBust.

Felix Jones will have to share carries with a wilderbeast named Marion Barber so he's out.

Matt Forte will be sharing carries with Benson...MAYBE. I think that if Forte shows well in camp, he will be the starter and could have a very good rookie season behind that line but the problem is that Chicago lacks a passing game to stop anybody from stacking the box!

Kevin Smith will be sharing carries with Tatum Bell. Both Backs have experience in the Zone system and it depends on who meshes with the O-line the best. Kevin could be in the best situation because the Lions have a serious passing game threat.

Its wide open the way I see it!  I think alot of factors go into this!

Kevin Smith- He has a chance to shine and he has a stellar passing threat to keep the safeties honest... But he will be splitting carries with Tatum Bell and wont be the starter until we have our bye in week 3(i think).  He has a very good chance to be offensive rookie of the year.

Jon Stewart- He will be good in Carolina but again he is another rookie splitting carries... His passing game should keep the wolves a bay... Delholme is coming back from tommy gun surgery(whatever its called) so if he goes down again or isnt full healed the passing threat is diminished...

Rashard Mendenhall- He is in a very good situation... Fast Willie is coming back from a broken leg and who knows if that has healed completely... The Steelers play smash mouth football so he will get carries.  I look for him to actually be more of a factor in putting points on the board then churming out yards! If Willie isnt fully healthy though he could have an awesome year!  It doesnt hurt that he has a proven passing attack also!

Darren McFadden- He may be good, but not this year! I think the Raiders have to many new pieces at one time to be good right away...

Felix Jones- He will get some carries but Barber is the man in big D!
