Something I cannot stand is the superlative nature of the announcers and Sportscenter (some fans too).  Just because a team loses the first two games on the road in a 7 game series, does not mean that the other team is about to sweep them.  They so often act as though the game 3 win for the home team was a tide turning surprise win, saying things before game 3 like it's a "must win".  While it really is the closest thing to a must win, the Game 3 host is usually the FAVORITE.

Take the Jazz for an example.  Should we not think they would win 1 if not 2 of games 3 and 4 at home with the league's best home record?  Of course we should....and they did.

Now both of these supposed near sweeps in the Western Conf are 2-2.  Think before you squawk.  Come up with something new to say as a headline.  Game on.

Spank the Lakers!

mdeyre1212,

Good to hear from you again!  Sorry about your Rockets but get Yoa healthy and you'll be back next year.

I couldn't agree with you more.  It seems like all of the sudden people think that this is one of the dominate Lakers teams of the past and they're not!  They finishied what 3 games better than the Jazz who had the sixth best record in the west.  After they swept the Nuggets, which wasn't a very good team, and beat the Jazz in the first 2 games al of the sudden everyone got the idea that made the Jazz an inferior team and forgot all about their homecourt dominance this year.  Hopefully this opened some eyes to how this series will play out.  The Jazz might not win, but if they don't this series goes 7 (not 4) and the Jazz lose a close one, but I do think if the Jazz come out with the same energy they have a chance to steal game 5 and finish it here in SLC.  I hope they do it just to shut everyone up about how dominate the Lakers are.

The Lakers are a great team. They are the number one seed in the West.

That having been said, if the higher seed wins the first two, then people think sweep. But when the road team wins the next two at home, people just say that they are holding their home court so it doesn't mean anything because they are supposed to.

Hard to keep up with the flip flopping. The Lakers are a good team, and the Jazz could have taken one at the Staples Center . . . . the Jazz are a good team, and the Lakers could have taken one at ESA . . . . they are both good teams, and this is a great series!

I agree with jazz/cougs, if the Jazz come out and play with the same intensity and attack the rim like they did in games 3 and 4, then they have a real chance to win in LA. Just play hard, limit your fouls, and don't back down and see what happens!

Go Jazz!
