Just kind of had a thought -

"IF" Derek Anderson does become the franchise QB would that make Brady Quinn be available in a couple of season and or potential trade bait?

"IF" either Aaron Rodgers and or Brian Brohm becomes successful would the loser be available would they be potentially a starting QB?

"IF" Matt Leinart actually became a NFL QB, would a potential Kurt Warner be a good option
(Don't like Leinart if he becomes available though)

Same thing with McNabb in Philly if the plans are for Kolb to take over in a couple of seasons.  Possible QB options also Kyle Boller in Baltimore when Flacco takes over.

Just some random possibilities for future "possible" QB's that might be available in the future for the Bears to consider.  Any others that I missed?

By no means do I pretend to know the financial and or trade ramifications of any of the QB's contracts in the future but like I said "IF" scenarios play itself out, would any of those players be a interest in the Bears in the future.

Best case for the Bears, either Rex & Kyle step up this season but I'm very skeptical.

I kind of intrigued with the Brady Quinn possibility since he's learning has "potential" and with the Browns possibly signing Anderson to a long term deal, while it isn't in the realm of reason they pay 2 QBs starters money, it would be a risk and money would be tied up for a player who hasn't taken a snap and wants to be a starter.

Also the Kurt Warner at QB still is interesting, if the Matt Leinart experiment is going to happen, all signs is that he doesn't want to be looking over his shoulder.  If the Cardinals release a Kurt Warner, it wouldn't be bad to have a vet at QB thats been to a few championships and or be a mentor to any future rookie QB

Also ... I guess Jeff Garcia and or Chris Simms from Tampa Bay maybe soon on the market as soon as they look at the teams salary cap.

It will be interesting in the next couple of seasons in FA, heck actually hope some action before June 1st

I'd be very pleased if Donovan McNabb came over from Philly. He put up relatively lousy numbers last year but he'd be the concrete answer to fill the position. The fact that we don't even know who'll start the season as QB is a drag. This should be priority one, the prime directive: find a GD QB.

Brady Quinn is an interesting option.  Rodgers has gotten injured in just about every game that he has played, which is why I believe the Packers drafted Brohm.  Warner and McNabb have some serious mileage on their bodies, and are having some serious durability issues.  And is Kyle Boller any better than the two guys we currently have under contract?

AND I guess the reason for the topic Blake if Kyle or Rex had any, we wouldn't have this tread now would we?

You don't need any balls to play QB...but it would be nice if we had someone who had some skills and a chip on their shoulder...though a prosthetic ball wouldn't be too bad...ha ha to the uni-ball

LOL ... one would be a improvement to none for sure Blake, fake or not
Not saying you don't need any to play QB but would probably help significantly ....

the Bears already have their own castoffs that can't cut it as starting QB's....why would we want guys from other teams to come and do the same thing Rex Grossman or Kyle Orton could do....

about the only guys on your list that would have any promise are Kolb and Brady Quinn but I dont think either team will let those guys go easily....

best bet is to develop a qb which will take time and that means a bad season or two for the Bears....although the sooner they accept it the sooner they can get through it...
