I don't hate the man, but I think it's rich that Joe Horn wanted to be with the Falcons so badly last off-season, so he could play with Michael Vick. Vick goes to Prison, the Falcons sink, and I bet you'll now hear him say that he's always wanted to play for the Cowboys. He should have just taken the paycut and stayed with the Saints.
he should just take the role of the ex-girlfriend and come back and say, i was wrong, i can't live without you, i'll do whatever it takes, i want you back Saints!

I can't believe you guys are hating on Joe Horn so much after what he has done for your franchise over the years. Maybe he made a mistake by going to the Falcons but that still doesn't overshadow what he has done here in the past. That is like me saying I hate Warrick Dunn for leaving and going to the Bucs.
drtybyrd, I think most of us are grateful for what Joe Horn did for the city of New Orleans. I know I am. I think we are frustrated about the money thing and that fact he went to play for Atlanta. If you can't see that we can't help you. I agree we need to treat him with more respect including me, but he went to the Falcons thinking he could get a ring now he may go to dallas thinking he can get a ring when he could of stayed in NEW ORLEANS and probably gotten a ring sooner. Oh Well. Yes, I said New Orleans! One day my friend!
You got to look at it from Joe Horn point of view as well. The Saints when Horn was there was loaded with young talent at the reciever position.So he knew that his playing time was going to be limited. The Falcons at the time didn't even have a true number 1 guy. Alot of people thought if Michael Vick had a top notch reciever that the Falcons could do big things. It really all started when Horn and Michael Vick were at the probowl and they both made a couple of good plays together. Horn new his playing days were numbered in New Orleans so he opted to go somewhere else where he would have a bigger role.
Now he is doing the same because the Falcons have a good group of young recievers and his services are no longer needed. I don't blame the guy for wanting to go and pursue a title exspecially at the age of 36. Just my opinion and like always I respect everyones here. I have nothing but respect for the Saints and there fans. Good luck this season fellas and maybe someday the Falcons will be able to stir up that rivalry once more.
drtybyrd, I don't hate Joe Horn, and I truly appreciate the player he was when with the Saints. I can even understand why he would choose the Falcons, though that didn't turn out best for him.
I just find it somewhat comical as to his situation, based on some of the things he said upon leaving New Orleans. I hope he does get picked up by a team and has a good year, so long as it's not in opposition to the Saints. He may be old and more injury prone because of it, but he's a good receiver when on the field.
Many of us hate the way he left, but most of us don't hate him outright.
Im wondering how can people like Reggie Bush and not like Joe Horn. Joe Horn was show and production while not being a high profile signed free agent. He wanted money for his production= rightfully so.
Reggie Bush is getting paid to juke all day and not follow his blockers. He's a great ambassador for the city and he's a lotta hype.
Joe Horn was the best reciever to ever put on a Saint uniform, sorry. Payton likes his boys, and he has said he likes in house draft picks and hand picked free agents more than those from the old regime.
