Can someone please explain...

Why is Kenny Wright still on this team??  Turns out that his April 3rd arrest for holding a couple O-zees of pot wasn't his first.  Check that, it wasn't even his first since the SEASON ENDED.  According to Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal, Wright was also charged March 1st for carrying a bag of weed in the trunk of his car after being pulled over for doing 51 mph in a 35 mph zone.  This guy is not only slow (he couldn't out run the cops remember?) but also incredibly stupid.  Look, I'm not naive enough to think these NFL players are squeaky clean and never smoke a little herb but it looks bad for the team to keep the guy especially when you consider the new conduct policy.  If I recall correctly, the NFL is considering punishing teams who harbor bad eggs like Kenny Wright.  I'd hate to see the Browns get sanctioned somehow because of this knucklehead.  if you're out there Phil Savage: If there is any truth to these allegations, please cut this guy immediately!

All I can give you is my opinion.

I believe Savage was waiting for it to become official (i.e. found guilty of charges) before he released him.

Basically he didn't want to cut him because of a newspaper article.

I have not heard if Kenny Wright is attending OTAs.  Have you?

Actually, Kenny Wright was just cut yesterday by the Browns.

Phil was waiting for all of the "facts" to come in before making his decision.  While it took longer than I, or most, would have liked, at least he finally sent that message of integrity.  He could have given him a pass because we're thin at cornerback, but he chose, instead, to do the right thing.

I agree, we don't need a distraction like that. Especially from a guy who cannot out run the cops. Must have been his "Green Mile" jumpsuit. Just think if a WR would have lined up against him and the smile that guy would have had.

I was a little longer than expected, but I think with all of the free agent signings we did, someone is going to be just as good as Wright or better, for less.
