On the subject of Specter wanting an independent investigation....hell no, if he wants it so bad let it come from his own pocket, this country is in shambles and this guy wants to waste more of our money on this? ridiculous!
Now onto Goodell and Belichick, ask yourself this ..why would the NFL want this to get any bigger than it already is? An investigation would only lead to finding out that many if not all teams are in some way "cheating", thus in the ever judging publics' eye, the games' integrity would seem compromised, and the league's control over it's product would be seemingly non existent. That is your reason why Goodell wants this over with. Goodell does not want his "reign" on this league to seem weak or inept. We all know Belichick is garbage as a person, and about as self centered and egotistical(since winning SB's with the Pats') as they come. This guy IS NOT one of the great coaches' of all time in any aspect. Those thinking the contrary , please tell me, What has this guy done that is great? How has he changed the game ? The answer is nothing. He was garbage in cleveland and nobody spoke a word of his "greatness" while he was there. If he were any kind of man he would've admitted what he did was wrong and apologized. Instead he gave a pathetic "I misunderstood the rule' BS explanation. I mean come on if he's some genius ask yourself, is that possible? The NFL should have punished the Patriots properly by disciplining them for EACH infraction(or game taped) just the way the players can't "ball up" their offseason infractions. Honestly can a player wait until the end of the year to "pay" for say .. beating up their wife , or a DUI? The answer is no, and Belichick and the Patriots should be no different.
