This was the funniest thing I have read in years. There is a picture of it on www.thebiglead.com check it out and lets talk about this one.
Here’s a post from an intern candidate.
Gerald Laird, back-up catcher for the Texas Rangers, he of the sub-.700 career OPS, signs his name “1 Man 5 Tools.” He’s not toolsy, at least not in the way that Matt Leinart and Nick Lachey are. And even though he hasn’t been able to turn his tools (or lack thereof) into performance, it’s an unintentionally hilarious autograph nonetheless. We wonder though, what if all major leaguers did something like this?
What else I thought was funny they have him as our back up. Maybe Ron should read this it might but some sense into him. 1 man 5 tools that is great, give that line to hamilton.
After reading the links maybe he does call himself that. The guys over at LSB had me cracking up. If someone asked him to sign it that way and he did, I got to give Gerald Laird his due. Maybe he has as sick and twisted sense of humor as we do.
I am one man with way more than 5 tools. Hammers, screwdrivers, dozens of wrenches and sockets, power drill, mitre saw, tape measures, pliers, a 12 inch d!ick and a dozen roses.
1 man 5 tools was given to Gearld Laird in High School by his teammates. he actually played CF some in High School. Josh Lewing and Tom Grieve talk about it a lot.
Thats funny that he would sign his name that way seeing that he doesn't have any tools. Thanks for the info, I usually don't listen to the broadcast if i can help it. Those guys are terrible, they talk about crap other than baseball. They might say one thing about the game but for 3 hours its about peanut M&M and golf. I thought it was one of the best signatures in the game.
Are you kidding me TAG and Josh are hilarious.. The reason they talk abou that is because they have to announce the worse team in baseball for the past 5 years. You try that and see what you start talking about. I would do the same. But after awhile its pretty amusing at what they talk about. Josh is a smart ass and will crack on any fan on T.V. and on players if they do something stupid. Then TAG just throws his two cents in every now and then. But yeah if i didnt watch much Ranger baseball i guess i would probably think those guys are some tools at first but i have been listening to them for awhile. The Stars have the best announcers from any sport by far Razor and Ralph are the shiznit my friends..
By the way I watch every Ranger game and they suck the announcers. I was born in pittsburgh and have been spoiled by real play by play guys. If you watch any other game then you would know they never rout for this team and half the time if you close your eyes and open them the bases will be loaded and it will be the bottom of the 9th. The radio guys are awesome and i would rather turn them on and listen to real baseball guys not where tom's son is playing or what josh's favorite sonic item is. Also the mavs announcers are awesome and the stars, I agree with that. The Rangers announcers suck and Josh does all the chargers games he doesn't give a shit about this team. We need die hards calling the games not lame boring who cares guys. If i did the rangers games i would change me voice when we hit a homer or a walk off not rangers win good night. Tonight close your eyes and see if you can tell who they are broacasting for, i bet you can't tell they are the rangers guys. Worst play by play of any team hands down. Besides gumble of nfl network he was number one and tom and josh number 2 now they made number one.
HOOKEM.....i agree that watching a baseball game with bad announcers is the pits. however, seeing that i have not seen ONE freakin game this year, nor have i heard ONE freaking INNING of Ranger baseeball, i would absolutely LOVE the chance to hear even a BAD announcer at this point. not to diminish your obvious disdain for these guys , but.........
I have company this weekend. My wifes sister, her husband(the olny other red in her side of the family) and their 6 month old baby girl that is my 1st niece. I will be be back in the swing of things once they leave town. We did watch the game on TV though.
