All I know is that NFL coaches, owners, and scouts think they are better.
I like statements like this. Was there a poll done, or something?
You mentioned this year's draft and the SEC having more players taken than the PAC - what do the numbers tell you when you factor in the difference in # of teams in each conference?

Hey I am not going to knock you on what you said. The SEC spends the most money on football programs, stadiums, players and coaches. I hope they are putting out good talent. I am not going to argue because my Chargers do seem to love those LSU guys. It is all good... but I just would not make this the barometer.
Peace.

the poll is how many players do they keep on their teams. There are more SEC players in the NFL than any other conference. I don't think they care what conference guys come from, they just want the best player. Hence, coaches ,owners, and scouts , by keeping more SEC guys than anyone else, must believe they are better. And for the record, NFL players is the closest way to judge who has the most talent.

I guess I don't see much of a difference between "talent level" of conferences when the differences between them is measured in fractions of a player per team (like the difference between SEC and Big 10).

rcooke, "Does not mean they (LSU) do not have a tradition per se... I just do not think it is even close to USC overall."
That's what BD, me and several others said about 50 miles upstream, Dhead !!!
I never said USC wasn't in the top tier. I never said LSU's tradition compared with USC's. Never said any of those things. I simply said that LSU has a fine tradition "per se" (LOL).
To that, you responded that LSU had NO TRADITION !!! Get a friggin' clue, pinhead !!!

Look rcooke, on pg. 3 of this thread, the very first thing I wrote on the subject of tradition was:
"Nobody in their right mind would suggest that LSU has AS MUCH football tradition as USC. It's not like LSU sat in the back of the bus all these years though ... LOL"
And for what 5 pages now, I've simply tried to get you to say what you just said ("Does not mean they (LSU) do not have a tradition per se... I just do not think it is even close to USC overall.") ... because it is the same as what I said WAAYYY back then.
Jeez !!!

rcooke,
What cajun is saying is absolutely correct. In fact, I am hard pressed to have found any LSU fan on THIS thread that has disagreed with that.
You seem to simply omit the 50s-70s when LSU was traditionally a Top Ten. Two of the schools you mentioned (Miami and FSU) were still playing beach volleyball then. You are seriously saying that LSU doesn't have the tradition of FSU? That is a joke.
Since 58, LSU has finished in the Top Ten 13 times (3 National Titles) and in the Top 20 26 times. Is that USC or Bama or ND? No.& | |
