	I saw the Redskins just released him and he would be great for our punt return game, pro bowler after the 2005 season as a returner.

	havent heard too much about this cat. all i know is the article i read about him(probably the same as you) listed that he has had trouble with the law. if so i dont want him!

	Well I would doubt the Steelers sign him simply because of his run-in with the law. He did make the Pro Bowl in 05 and he is very very fast. Here's some info on him should anyone want to know about him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerome_Mathis

	Jerome Mathis is a speedster. He is a good return man. He hails from Hampton college. But he yet to produce on the field as a receiver. And with the Steelers current roster, I don't see him being called to play for us. Besides; the Steelers don't speak to players that has had brushes with the law.

	I had the same thought the moment I saw the story he was released. He would be our 4th receiver and would be much better than Willie Ried. We would basically be swaping Mathis for Ried. I'd take that. As far as his arrest, the charges were dropped...ala James Harrison. Don't think the Steelers wouldn't look at the guy, because they already have with other players. Davenport had some priors before they signed him and has some recent problems. I would love if they signed him.
