Wow, really??  NFL players use steroids???  NO WAY!!!  LOL  It was only a matter of time before the steroid era branched out from baseball into other professional sports.  NFL athletes are ridiculous is stature, modern day Giants, of course they are using some form of steroids, when are they going to come up with a test for HGH???

Ummmm, despite your sarcasm The NFL had huge problems with Steroids in the 80s--so where have you been?  They (NFL) certainly have a better track record of dealing with it than MLB.

I'm pretty sure I never criticized the way the NFL handles steroid usage.  Nor did I say they never had their problems with it, so why you are saying that, I'm not really sure, the problem with all sports though is that they don't have a test for HGH and until that happens, steroids will always be a part of sports.  If this "dealer" starts naming names of big stars in the NFL, you don't think this will start something up similar to the Bonds and Clemens issue in baseball??

No I don't.  The thing that was started in the Bonds fiasco was the demand for tougher testing and tougher penalties.  The NFL already has that.

To suggest that baseball's steroid problem has or might spread to other sports indicates a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation.  James_Gumb correctly pointed out that the NFL had a huge steroid mess in the 80s, and it was during this time that most folks figured out that steroids are a big problem.  MLB owners watched the NFL go through the steroid problem (see Lyle Alzado).  But MLB ignored the problem for another 20 years, and this is precisely the reason pro baseball's current steroid issue is such an embarassment.  MLB turned its back on the problem and basically did nothing until Congress got involved.  The NFL at least gave the appearance that it wasn't going to tolerate steroid use.  MLB on the other hand turned its back on the problem because the great HR race between McGwire and Sosa was great for tv ratings and ticket sales, especially after MLB cancelled the World Series in the mid-90s due to labor strife.  Pro baseball has been run into the ground by greedy, near-sighted players and owners, and the sport will never be the same.

I don't see how this will turn into a big show like it did because of Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa and McGuire...and so on and so forth...

Not that I don't think steriods is an issue I just agree with the other posters that MLB and the NFL have handled their stance on steriods much differently....

You have to admit that the NFL has done a much better job trying to keep steroids out of the ranks than almost any other sport. They have taken a hard line and will continue to do so in order to protect the players and their image.

Somewhere I got a feeling that Shawn Merriam his like *uck...lol...These guys are huge and this is pretty much a muscle game of who is strongest and quickest athlete. There is no suprise that steriods is are in the NFL. Wouldn't be suprise that if some quaterbacks was taking steriods either. Steriods are inside game and people that administer these steriods probably showed the players how to beat the test.

I have to admit that I am less appalled by athletes using steroids and HGH than most of the sports fans I know.  These men are paid to entertain us, and faster stronger players are more entertaining.  Are there health risks involved, sure.  Are they compensated for those risks, certainly.  In a perfect world all athletes would be on the juice, it would make the games more fun to watch and these athletes would be earning their 7-8 figure salaries in the same way a coal miner or firefighter earns his 5 figure salary.  By putting a price on their health.
