not to sound like I'm bashing Marion Barber or anything

but I've heard it reported that he and the Cowboys are not close on securing a deal because he wants

A) LaDainian Tomlinson type $$$

but the Boys are offering

B) Michael Turner type $$$

of which do you think he is more deserving ???

I'm voting Michael Turner type $ because as I've said before, I don't believe Marion Barber to be a top 10 RB in the NFL.  He is good at what he does (running hard and picking up tough yards, decent pass catcher) but he by no means is in the same category as LT and/or Brian Westbrook when you're talking elite in the NFL.

It would be in the Cowboys best interest to get him re-signed tho even if they have to pay a bit more than they originally intended.  Because if a player the caliber of MB3 hits the free agent market, then the price goes through the roof, i.e. Bernard Berrian to the Vikings (who is even less of a top 10 WR than Barber is of a top 10 RB).

wtf is going on around here?!?

I remember Jeff Fisher saying before the draft something along the lines of he'd love to have Marion Barber in Titans blue because with him, you know what you're getting as opposed to bringing in a rookie RB (Chris Johnson and his 4.24 speed but we don't know how that will translate into the NFL).   

Last night they said Barber wasn't in Dallas working out with the team (voluntary) but that the Cowboys aren't worried because they know how hard he works on his own and how dedicated he is.  I would just be worried about giving the guy a fat contract with guaranteed $$$ because of the bruising style in which he runs.  Sooner rather than later, that will catch up to him.  He is a monster tho. 

Again I'm not hating on him.  It's not like he plays for the Jaguars !!!
