The Royals will have momentum coming into this series after just completing a sweep the Tigers, but as the Marlins just proved to the Reds, that doesn't necesarily mean anything. It seems like the pitching matchup should favor us for the first two games, but not so much for game 3.
There is nothing on marlins.com about weather or not Mike Jacobs will play tonight, but you know how that goes. I hope Florida can pull a sweep, but realistically I think we win games 1, and 2 and lose game 3. We just need to get some momentum back on our side after this embarrasment in Cincinnati. Go Marlins!
How's the weather looking down there in the 305 for tonight? I'm in Ft. Walton Beach up in the panhandle, and it's storming. Hopefully no delays tonight.
Royals fan here. Me and a couple of buddies are flying down to watch the Sat. game and the Sunday game. Looking forward to watching Brian Bannister and Zack Grienke pitch down there. I've already watched Brett Tomko pitch and we lost. First time to Florida, really excited to get out of Missouri for a couple of days. I agree you should take game 1. I'm hoping we at least take 1 game from you guys. Love what the Marlins are doing this year. Wish KC could swing the bats like your team. Anyone know a good bar near the stadium to hang out before the game? Good luck, look for us we will be the only Royals fans there.
The weather seems decent for tonight's game- There maybe some cloud-cover around the ball park and a rain drop here and there, but nothing that will put the game in jeaporady.
Welcome Royals fans- Nice to have you at our ball park this weekend and our boards throughout the season.
Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of going to bars or anything like that so I would not be the person to ask about that. But then again, finding the nearest hooters or something like that is the best I can personally suggest.
By the way Royals fans, I am also a member of the Florida Marlins Community Foundation- I usally work the saturday games selling raffle tickets as we raise money for all the charity events the team sponsor- You can buy raffle tickets which cost 1$ per raffle ticket or 6 for 5$ and so forth- It is for a great cause and you may leave our city with a piece of the Marlins, and hopefully you can apperciate it...
There will be tables set up next to each section of the ballpark and you will see us selling raffle tickets- I will most likely be in sections 142,147,157- I am disabled and in a wheelchair, the only member in this situation, so if you happen to see me-- Come by and introduce yourselves.
What kind of stuff do the winners get?Whatever the community foundation decides to put up as prizes for that particular night. All items are signed and authenticated, so its worth the money because you get your hands on something you otherwise wouldn't get for such a prize, and it's for a good cost as I said.
Anyone know a good bar near the stadium to hang out before the game?
Pablo mentioned Hooters, just head north on University and there is one not to far away from the Stadium.
And if you want to return to Missouri the same way you came I suggest you stay North of the stadium, dont head to far South.
