Alright, so earlier today I read a post talking about guys who had come to the Cubs late in their careers and revived their career. I believe some of the names were Rod Beck, Todd Hollandsworth, etc.....

I was looking for this post to tell a friend about. We like to pull old names out of the archives. For instance, I recently saw Matt Gehger (spl) on ESPN and we had a laugh about that guy.

If you posted these names will you please repost. Or if you know what I'm talking about please post some of those guys.

Thanks for the help! Sorry if this post was confusing!

how about todd hundley?  no wait he sucked for the Cubs

maybe bill mueller?  no that is right he was good before he got here and great after he left.

gary mathews jr. ?  no we cut him before he became an allstar.

seems like most of the guys i can think of had better careers after they left.  like Greg Maddux and Jamie Moyer.  we did bring in rogers hornsby once for one good year.

In Bill Mueller's defense he played well until he got hurt on an all out hustle play.

How about Luis Gonzalez also?

maybe if Sammy Sosa hadnt had been so stingy with his magic vitamins then these guys would have been good for the Cubs too.   i guess hundley's excuse was similar.

the guy that made me the most mad was jeromy burnitz.  he was pathetic.

I'll give a short list of whom I remember came over and preformed well.  Andre Dawson, Rick Sucliff, Kevin Tapani, Jon Lieber (1st time here), Rod Beck, Gary Mathews Sr. (Luv Sarge), Larry Bowa, Ron Cey, There are probably more. Too eary to think of them all. 1 LH closer who broke down for the pads later on. But resurecting their carriers here. I'd have to go with the Red Baron. 5-6 going no where with the Indians. Cost us a HoF in Joe Carter but I will never forget Ricks 16-1 1984 run.
